I’ll post it up this weekend after I do it, think it’ll cost me under $20 and should do basically the same thing.

Madwi - I didn’t know that! Good to know, also how’d you imbed the video?

On another note, got my synolimit 63mm throttle bodies, can’t wait to put them on this weekend either!

Click on Go advanced under the quick message box, then you will see the tags across the top of the message box. Click on the youtube tag. Once the tags are inserted you can then just put the video ID from youtube between the tags. The video ID is the alpha numberic characters after the = sign in the link. For the video you posted the ID is 6wx6zrwirWI.

Put on my synolimit 63mm throttle bodies on today! Idles fine, drove around a bit, no codes or anything. Only took 15 minutes to swap them out.

As for the cheap alternative to the dewla dezigns thing, here’s what I did. I call it... The Air Functional Fang Mod! Lol ...Saw it somewhere on the forum and decided to do it myself. All the dewla piece does is redirect air up to where the intake filters are. So I took two 4” 5 foot dryer hose sections and linked them from where the fangs are, (removed the plastic cover piece that blocks them off.) up to where the filters are. If I did it again, I’d use a 4 foot 3” section because it was a PITA getting the bumper back on. I plasti-dipped both sides of one end to make them blend, also to give them a little strength so they won’t get holes from bugs and rocks as easy. Tested the air flow and it works! Super cheap, idk how well it works compared to the dewla dezigns piece, but it’s definitely better than nothing at all! I can post a vid of me testing the airflow later if someone wants lol

VERY clever. Would love to see a video. How did you hook them up to the fangs? I assume this will make front fascia removal more complicated, yes?

Also, how much did those throttle bodies set you back?

The block off plates attach with little screws, so I just punched the screws through the dryer tubes to hold it on. Removing the front fascia is just as easy as there is plenty of slack, I don’t have to take the tubes off and just leave them attached to the bumper. But with the size I used, squishing them in the bumper when putting it back on is a pain. 3” would make that much easier. I think I paid somewhere around $400 for the throttle bodies.

Thanks! I appreciate the video and the insight. I have a '14 Nismo so if (let's be real, when) I go this route I'll have to gin up an attachment method. And your point on 3" tubing is noted and taken.

Hmm for 400 bucks I would be tempted on those TBs. Just bought craftsquare mirrors, a new oil cooler, and new hoses so that'll have to wait for a bit.

Do you have any concerns on

Do you have any concerns on rain getting up the pipes and on the intake filters?

Not really, most of the tubing goes straight up and there’s like 3 turns, so I doubt and real amount of water is going to make it up those tubes. Also that dryer tubing is ribbed for her pleasure, so that makes it even harder for the water to make the journey.

And I’ve seen 3 dyno’s on that throttlebody set that were 15-20hp and 10-15 tq. I haven’t really gotten on it, but throttle response does seem a bit snappier.

Swapped out my motordyne m370 for a Z1 manifold yesterday per my new tuner. Also added a 2nd baffled oil catch can. Cars so out of wack now with a new mani, larger tb’s, gold wrapped intakes for cooler temps, and the air ducts feeding it more and cooler air without a retune. So I can’t really get on it or tell a difference from the mods. Trying to set up an appointment June 7th for my first tune with my new tuner. A dyno tune this time instead of etune! I’m excited!

Attempted your air ducting mod... no real place to mount the ducting in the nismo bumper mouth. Best way I can think of is to pick up a set of brake cooling kit bumper intakes and install those.

That would definitely do the trick, but it is a bit more work.

Yes, and finding intakes that fit would be uncheap.

Nice touch I think.

Another small addition today. Tomei piston style oil cap. Super awesome quality, looks great. Will look even better when I get a CF engine cover.

I have the same one. The adhesive on the label failed after 6 months, so you may want to take it off and put a stronger bonding agent on.
