There are a few cracks and... it’s already sold. Lol. We’re going to fab up a custom dash with speedhut gauges. A bit like this.

Surfdog’s 71 240
Tear down continues
...at my buddies shop now next to some *other* cars. It’s easier for me to work on it there. For one thing there’s heat and also a lot of very talented guys down there to keep me moving when I get stuck. I will strip the car here refurb the body and parts here build my 3.0 stroker here and probably reassemble everything back up in my shop this summer or next. (Were not in a hurry on this build) Bought this peach for her crank diff and 5 speed tranny. #Ilovecrap80scars

Farrari P4 getting restored for a movie premier Saturday. (The Ford vs Farrari movie)
We’re doing a movie premier/car show at a local theater with some really cool period cars (and my Factory 5 Daytona) These are my buddies’ contributions (and mine) Denver Farrari are bringing some in and a few other clubs as well.

I think there is something like only 4 or 5 P4's left. Each one WAY over the million dollar mark.

^Sounds like you have quite a bit of work ahead of you. I wish you the best of luck on this project. What are the real plans with the engine?

Stroker 3.0 with crank out of my newly acquired 83 Datsun maxima diesel (LD28) Block from that L28 (280zx) I tore down awhile back new rods pistons etc. 10.5 ish compression. Triple Webber carbs. Electric fuel pump and external pressure regulator. 123 electronic ignition. Should make 250-270 ish hp on pump gas. Plenty for it’s young driver. My team has a spare robello motor sitting on the shelf if we decide to take it up a notch and go racing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Surfdog’s 71 240
Good news the diff rings on both my 240 and Datsun are 3.53 ( what I wanted) so I have two good diffs. (One spare)
Edit: it’s a 3.3 diff. A bit tall, but since I’m running a torquey 3.0l setup on a still very light rig (hoping to keep her under 2000 lbs) we should be okay. I hope the maxima diff is a 3.5 in case we want to build up a “swap in” sprinter diff for shorter track races. I don’t mind refurbing a second diff, but those Quaife center sections are a bit pricey. ($1200 ish) The maxima 5 speed is also a direct swap spare. (Same gear ratios) Sweet! This $1,000 honey is a gold mine! My 240 motor internals look great. (Though I tossed the crank and 2.4l block for scrap). I’ll use the head. My 240 5 speed looks great. I will rebuild with new synchros but gears look good. Getting the shift fork actuator rod out can be a bitch unless you cheat and drill out the case. Then you can brace the shift fork and bang out the retaining pin/bolt from outside. Tap in a grub screw to seal up the hole and your good!!

Next up sandblast everything. My buddy’s shop has a sandblast table (mediablast really). So... I’ve got some work to do.

Use corncob or walnut. Getting ALL the sand out is a real PITA. Plus corncob or walnut will give it a different finish too.
Chilled iron works great. But you WILL pay the price for using it. The chit hurts! The same with shot peen.
