Iron block LS1 370z

Decided to LS swap my z, my good friend had an iron block LS machined and sold it to me at cost, almost wrapped up, just waiting on wiring now.
Hoping to get ~450hp, reliable and NA, probabaly forced induction later.

LM7 (5.3) Iron block bored to LS1 specs (5.7)
weisco ~11.4:1 comp pistons
PRC Stage 2.5 CNC'd heads
BTR cam
LS6 intake/ebay TB
630cc injectors/billet fuel rails
Stock 370z cd009, Collins CD009 adapter
t56 bellhousing
custom 2" shorter steel driveshaft
stage 3 clutch
lightweight flywheel
PSI cast exhaust manifolds
all new accessories

Still need to
-Install new headers
-Build downpipes to attach to HKS exhaust
-Install clutch line
-Modify accelerator pedal to cable
-Finish up wiring (splice in engine harness to stock Z harness)
-Flash ecu and tune
-Finish radiator hard lines
-Finish heater core lines

First mockup bolted in, sat too far forward. I moved it back two inches at the trans before making the motor mounts,

This is the subframe cut out, before reinforcing the backside, I will also be reinforcing it more once the details are finished up.

Here you can see the oil pan almost touching the subframe, and the trans cut, collins adapter, t56 bellhousing bolted, clutch/flywheel installed.

I cut the corners and welded plate in for clearance

I cut the shifter cradle and linkage to line up after I moved the trans back.

This is unnatural, I used to own a UK Vauxhall VXR8 which is a Holden with an LS3 6.2L engine, great car but 12 miles to the gallon - Too much considering the cost in the UK.

Gas just dropped to less than $2 a gallon in quite a few places here in the states. LS370z, please.

Its about £1.25 a litre in the UK plus extortionate amounts of car tax for CO2 emissions.

I pay circa £50 car tax per month just to drive my 370Z on the road.:icon14:

The best of luck with your build. I did a LS2 swap in a RX7 quite some time ago it was a real pain in the rear. One of the few issues with the Z is there is not a lot of room to work with. The biggest issue with the RX7 build I did was traction. Definitely address the suspension and wheel/tire set up before attempting a pull.

Looks great so far! There will be a few LS swapped Z's running around now :) I'm doing an L33 (5.3 aluminum block)swap in my Z.

Why you using the stock 6 speed manual?

It's a good transmission, I already had it, I was hoping it would be easier with the whole swap, but ended up having to move it back 2 inches for the ls to fit.

Shouldn't be too bad. I'm going to be balancing the weight of the car afterwards. And probabaly end up going with some r888r's

And probabaly have to go longer gearing in the rear, with a lsd.
