Car is running great right now I need a couple more WOT 3rd gear pulls for Seb. and I'd much rather do it on the rollers if ok. I'll give him a shout and see whats up.

Degreed LJMS cam, dropped in Johnsonlifters (short travel hydrolic), installed Melling high pressure oil pump and put on front cover.
Melling put Red Locktite on a spring retainer screw (or something) because it was damn near impossible to get the screw out to replace the oil flow spring. I also had to take apart the pump to clean out any metal shavings. All-in-all... pretty successful day. Last edited by gbrettin; 06-29-2019 at 08:30 PM. |

Another day and a half. You should be ready for install.

Windage tray on (with fitment issues), oil pick up and Moroso 4way trap door pan. I'll come back tomorrow and figure out the clearance.

To find out where the crank and rods are hitting the windage tray. You need some HiSpot bluing compound (grease will work too). Put a thin layer on the inside of the tray. Install it and rotate the crank. The bluing will transfer to the crank and rods marking the contact areas.
My big block Mopars had a swinging oil pick up. My big block Pontiacs and Chevys had a T shaped oil pan.
