My plan yesterday hadn't been for any gains. When I talked with RT in setting this up, the goal was just improving my safety net and laying the ground work for future mods. These gains were with a pretty conservative tune leaving more headroom than I had previously, but adding slightly more boost. I'll have to do an overlay and attach it here, but the most impressive thing about the new power curve is that although my peak numbers are only up 20 whp/10 wtq, the delta around 6.5k - 7.2k is more like 60whp, and it's definitely apparent.

Attached is my previous dyno run with spring pressure vs the current run with the solenoid.

1) Notice the delta around 6500 rpm.
2) Solenoid makes the boost ramp less abrupt.
3) Current tune is higher boost (about 2 additional psi) but safer tune (more headroom as far as injector duty cycle goes).

Edit: In case it's not obvious, I mapped this using Excel. The new dyno chart from RT is not overlayed with my previous run.

End of the Road

It's been quite a while since I've actively posted here since the people I care most about from the site have largely moved to a Discord chat, but since every so often I get a message about the car I figured I'd stop in and finish this up.

I am moving on from the 370z platform, which is pretty hard to type out. I've loved this car and virtually everything about it for the past 8 years of ownership. I've made some amazing friendships with people all over the US. My mechanical skills have come along way. My wife and I have made countless road trips in this car and it has been amazing.

I test drove a couple of newer cars recently including a BMW M2 competition and a Mercedes C63S Amg (the V8TT model, not the emasculated v4 battery powered one) and absolutely loved the C63S. Picked up a 2021 with 26700 miles and am having a blast driving it around.

Still have my 300zx TT, so that'll take care of my Manual Transmission needs for the time being, but I just wanted to tell you all how much I've appreciated you over the years and how much the accumulated knowledge on this forum has done to help build my skillset. In no particular order - special thanks to Rusty, Madwi, Joby, Mike, JAR, ZSCarpenter, Elmo, GBrettin, Ghost, John, and OldGuy, plus anyone else I've forgotten.

Currently at 117k miles and for anyone wondering, the BP turbo kit is still going strong. I did end up getting the intake relocation done because cleaning the filter was a gigantic PITA.

Thanks for posting today, bumped a thread that I somehow overlooked. Spent a good hour going from beginning to, presumably, the end. Great build. I love how un-pretentious and honest you are man:tup:

Fellow PAer, if you still have it come (real)spring reach out. It would be fun to gain some knowledge from you and check out the car in person.

:tiphat:

Glad you enjoyed the read, I hope you found something here to help you! The car is listed for sale on some social media sites but we'll see how quickly it moves. You're always welcome to come by - I have a few interesting toys including a heavily modified 1993 300zx TT. I'm also always glad to meet a fellow car enthusiast.

Glad you're doing well, Josh, and congrats on the AMG! You should bring it down to the TotD sometime!

I'd be happy to read the thread on your new build here, regardless of it not being a 370z!
