Have had several sport cars.Older person.60.Allways liked the style of the Z.Bought one last spring.Enjoyed the car on ride home but thought it could use some more power.So the trip down the rabbit hole began.Working on car and hope to have done by spring.Motor,twin turbos,transmision,suspension,CF front clip,wheels and interior.

Looks like a hell of a build!

Ride low and raise up when needed.
 

Had trouble last year with dragging bumper over speed bumps or my garage.I needed to be able to crawl over things and then go back to my set ride height.
Stance air cups to lift up front when needed.Compessor and air tank fit in trunk.
Also they are testing something for the rear of the car.

I like this, it something I have heard about....

Catch can went from red to burnt orange when powder coated.Baked to long.
Re did catch can.

Prep for pant
 

Working on prep for 3 weeks.Block sanding.Primer with guide coat. More sanding.After market hood and fenders not as strait as I thought.All Carbon Fiber.I will just leave a little CF showing.My taste is not to have the hood and fenders showing all carbon fiber.All in the prep for a nice paint job.I will be using a new high soild clear I have not tried but have seen great results.

I posted this in DIY section but thought I would put in with build.This was an adventure.Fog light hooked up as factory.Change stalk on column. Used Canadian stalk so control on correct side.Dash light not there.Need to solder in led.Put 10 amp fuses in blank spots.

Body work is work
 

Getting nice and flat for paint.Having issue with Fly1 parts.The fenders flex when you put hood down.The lip on fender to mount is thin and not as wide as factory.Added wider and thicker fiberglass lip for mounting.Modified and strengthened mounts on car.

Slugging away on the body work.Nissan put a lot of clear on but it is soft.Does not have hard glass finish.Working on rear bumper.The rear bumber has half the paint of the fenders.Why is that?

I would like to use stronger language.Carbon Fiber hood.I had made design I wanted to use.The factory hood latch is not good.Screws into hood. I'm running over 600HP at wheels and did not think it would hold.Put in flush mount hood pins after I did design.Should of thought of this before.As you can see it looks like Sh#t.Have been doing body work for weeks and want to paint next weekend.So will tape off pins to follow line and paint part of pins red.I may take off and redo next year but I'm so tired of doing body work and car is ready to go.I just want to shoot this next weekend.Also i have a lot of custom CF parts on car.Car is roadster with custom cf spoiler.Made mold from cut up coupe spoiler. .Making spoiler extension for spoiler.Like the power trix one.Tip of extension broke when pulling out of molds..
I love cars they keep me sane but some days I hate them.

Well this is how the hood came out.Ok for now may change in future.Shot off front bumper.That high soild clear has nice shine.Before buffing.

Congratulations on the progress of your build. On the body and paint work take your time on it as it will turn out best when you do.

If you want a replacement, Imgur works, for the most part, really well. Mobile app for it is OK too.

Paint turned out great. I would love to be able to do that myself. Good job.

Spoiler extension mock up
 

Continue body work theme.
Roadsters do not have Factory spoiler.I liked that spoiler look.I bought one on line that was similar look to factory but different.Some work to get a factory look.I saw CF spoiler extension for factory cars.I thought it would look good to have the spoiler red and then the black CF extension.
After 4 attempts this is the spoiler extension mock up.Clean up a few spots and make mold from this.
With luck will get CF extension that looks good roadster.

Making spoiler extension has been a lot harder than I thought..I will hang on to molds.Will post the two togeather when done.

I love that mines style add-on for the factory spoiler... I've been hoping one of the chinese knockoff mass producers would start copying it..but seems like all you can get on the cheap is the duckbill knockoffs.

Needs one more cut and buff.Starting assembly. Day time running lights,tailights,diffuser,door handles,badges,side blades,spoiler an extensions and wheels.Getting closer and weather is better.

Carbon fiber or black wheels would look great.This has been suggested to me.I'm on old school kind of guy who has to have his wheels shine.
I think the polished metal shows the depth of the wheel better.

Nice work. I really enjoy seeing done up verts. So few out there.

Doing Carbon Fiber
 

Like a lot of people I started buying Carbon Fiber parts.Body panels where full C F.I bought stuff from Evo R and others that where covers that went over parts.Not happy with this.I wanted to get CF parts that no one made.After spending money on this stuff I bought equipment and materials to do my own CF.Laid out about $1500 to get started.Some of early attempts did not turn out well.
Gauge pod out of the mold tonight.Will be sanded and cleared.Sill plate showing what a finished piece looks like.
