Hope it is repaired real soon and you are back on the road. I have to imagine the yearly driving window for sports cars is short in your neck of the woods.

That is the worst part. Losing days I can drive the Z with our short summers.

Sent car in for wheel alinement.
Showed technician air cup system raising front end 8".Showed where the switch was and how to work.

Another person went to put car on rack and did not air it up. He got hung up.He then steps on gas hard.

My car has a super light pedal. That is how I like it.Also has a lot of power.
He almost flew off back of ramp.

Punched hole in front bumper and tore off side blade.A lot of stuff twisted.
A few thousand in damage at least.

The front bumper is from Fly1 and took a little over 3 months to get.
I have used this shop for years. They do a lot of tuner and muscle cars.

They will pay but I want to drive this summer so will be doing repairs.

Hate to make repairs to bumper that was new.Thinking of putting stock bumper on for summer and order new Fly1 bumper.

Love the creativity in your work, and sorry you had such a setback! That's awful.

Spoiler

Pre fit on Spoiler.Have to cut and buff one more time.Car is dusty and driveway has a slope to the middle to drain war.
Next comes the infamous spoiler extension. After numerous attempts it came out pretty well.Needs to be cleared and sanded. The two should be together on car some time this week.

Went from 2 piece mold to 3 piece.
Changing break lines on 3 piece mold.Useing different foam for core.I will try less pressure pulling the resin through the Carbon Fiber.

If you have followed build you know there is no factory spoiler for roadster.

I liked the look of the Mine style spoiler extension. There is no such thing for this.
I thought it would be good idea to make one in Carbon Fiber for the car.(was I wrong).
As you have seen on the tread it has been a rough go.From making the mock up for mold.Making several molds until I got right.Having trouble with resin.Numerous attempts at this.Working to get fit just right.

There it is.The only one of its kind that will fit that spoiler.

Not yet mounted it is just sitting on spoiler.3 coats of clear on extension.
One more cut and buff for extension and spoiler before final mounting.

Learned a lot about Carbon Fiber and making custom piece on this build.

Have over 120hrs into this extension from start to finish.I'm to stubborn to give up.

Look's like it came from the Factory like that!

Baronsmokes 06-12-2018 08:55 PM

Thank You
Has been an adventure making a one of a kind piece. Not perfect but i will not point out the flaws.

Starting to Catch up.Some low resolution pics. Test fit.Added a lot more Carbon Fiber to add strength. The bumper is more solid now and still is very light.

Looking good, man!

JLarson 06-14-2018 09:51 AM

Baron, how did you get started doing body work? Your results are excellent, and I'd love to learn some of this in the near future.

Thanks
It just practice and patient.Bought old car when I was a kid.No money so do it yourself. All my childhood friends do their own body work. When you are sanding on large panel it can be drudgery. The prep before you paint is everything.

cut buffed and mounted

Cut and buff done. Final mounting.
Finished with this #### spoiler stuff and can move on.

It looks very nice. I would have hate to have been the guy driving the car during the alignment ramp episode. It would have been all I could do to not fly off the handle.
