So lots of pictures from a fun weekend! Ive been like dying all week after getting back with no will to do anything so thats a plus.

So for starters, this was my first time ever at buttonwillow, and only the second track day in the Z.

We started off the day with a 2.12, no prior experience and still learning the car honestly. Even on just the first session i knew the day was going to be a long one with the open diff. Every corner exit it was super sloppy and just wanted to slide out and act weird.

I pushed harder and harder and by mid day i set the fastest time of my day, because after i set it there was lunch break and the track became hot and became a tad greasy.

We set a 2.07.3XX(I forgot to take a picture of the time sheet fr an exact time )

I helped push friends who have been there multiple times to 2.07-2.08 from their 2.10 PBs, because i was pressuring them from behind and having a blast doing it.

The only corner i could take with authority, which was the corner everyone else thought id struggle with because of lack of track experience and the open diff, was Phil Hill. I made so much ground there on every other car in Intermediate with me.

Side note: Was the fastest intermediate classed car without aero, so thats a plus.

Was a fun day with friends, learned a lot, and now i need to take a break from tracking to get some setup things sorted out. I Need a LSD. My driving style with an open diff is a bad combo.

After the track day, i stayed on a friends couch instead of going home so we could hang out in Los Angeles and take photos.

My car is not photogenic by any means yet, thanks to the previous owner the paint is totally ruined. Faded / Chipped / Scratched, you name it, its there.

Beautiful 370Z you have there I wish you the best of luck with your build. I recommend the Stillen short throw shifter I ran it on my other 370Z and liked it a lot. Anything is better than the stock OEM Nissan shifter though.

I think i may have gotten hit with the dreaded Steering Lock... since the Z is a 09 after-all.

Once the weather clears out a bit ill investigate, as for now i have the friends over at Corner 3 diagnosing from what i showed them in a few videos i took..

Guess its gonna sit for a while, atleast i carpool to work so its not too big of a deal.....

Fixed.

It was the GTR Start/Stop Button. Put my OEM button back in and it started just fine.

Pulled the steering lock fuse while i was at it just to avoid it being a possibility in the future.

Signed up for Nissan Challenge Round 3.

Havent really done much to the Z past few weeks. Been in the works of talking to a couple companies to see what we can do to take it to the next level.

Stay Tuned

I learned how to do some of my own maintenance last night, since most of the **** we installed on the Z wasnt me but friends, while i was the assistant / doing the little things. (Gotta start somewhere right)

Learned to bleed brakes, and how to work a Vice because the retainer clips were bent, explaining why it always darted to the side on initial braking.

Rolled under the car, made sure everything was tight and found the source of my dropping of goop(Diff bushing is starting to go).

Adjusted the coilovers, lowered it / gave it some more pre-load.

Gonna throw camber in it tonight by using a caliper gauge and do my best, since the shop i took it too for an alignment was incompetent and couldn't give me the camber i needed. Told them how to adjust it, and still couldnt do it.

Race prep for next weekend, basically complete.

Reserved a U-Haul trailer for next weekend since im going Solo, so if anything happens i wont be stranded out in the middle of nowhere.

Need to add my updated stickers for sponsors, and prep mentally for Nissan Challenge.

Buttonwillow track weekend was a success. No pictures however, as i was too cheap to want to buy them this time.

Car felt great, but i began to find the limits of the S-04s, and being stock power for the most part, couldnt really make up time in the straights compared to some cars out there.

Achieved a new PB, which happened in the morning, before the track got abysmally warm, with a passenger non-the-less! A 2.06.2XX. Theres definitely more room for improvement, even with current setup. Just need to get more seat time to feel comfortable pushing it harder. (Still only my 3rd track day).

It was a fun weekend with friends, competition between us, and Nissan Challenge.

I also had the chance to have Steven Doherty coach me, and it taught me a few things. One big thing is i didnt realize how aggressive i drove until i had someone ride with me... At-least my aggressive driving is consistent, and i can always catch it, but knowing i can shave more time by being more smooth, is definitely something i look forward to next time.

I was bad and spent money i probably shouldnt have... but oh well.

Last week i pulled the trigger on a great deal for a set of Rays Gram Lights 57CRs in Gun Blue. Sizes 18x10.5 +22 squared.

Going to do 1 more track event on my VMRs and have a dedicated Wheel/Tire setup on the Rays for track use. This way i can run 275/305 on my VMRs with a lower TW tire so they will last longer.

305s are useless on the street on an NA powered 370z. Jus sayin....

Silly thing is some tires are actually cheaper in that size than 285s. For some A/S tires atleast

So the Z is getting wrapped!!

I got a new sponsor, Element 6 Design. Mark is a great dude, so if youre based in socal look them up and send the guy a message if you need / want anything wrapped/fixed.

And here is some of the progress.

Unfortunately the site i normally use to upload pictures is having issues so ill just attach them for now.

I went with a 3M Plum Explosion. I was originally going to go with a nice deep blue with a lot of flake, but then i realized just how many people wrap their cars blue, so i wanted to stand out a little.

Along with the wrap, hes doing all of the body work to make it stay on there and look really nice.

We also are going to shave and fiberglass my rear bumper, making my single exit look like it was meant to be there. So ill have a one-off bumper after this.

Hes also installing my new SL front lip, and Evo-R High wing

I cant wait for it to be done.
