With the turbos, timing kit and long block arriving this week I decide to get off my *** an prep the bay.
http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...9af801c61.jpeg Sanded, Primed and taped off http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...c795fb68f.jpeg We used some PPG single stage white. Ended up with 4 coats from the pint of paint. http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...6c3ccab82.jpeg Turned out great if I do say so myself. http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...a753b33be.jpeg Had some extra paint so we sprayed the silver parts of the engine cover white to match |

Finally got the weld bungs in to finish most of the catch can/coolant reservoir combo. I am gonna test fit the front support and hood again to see if by chance it will clear a 3" tall filter. If it wont I'll just do the scotchbrite/lawn mower foam filter so it's low profile. |

http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...fdc45d734.jpeg Double checked the clearance with the hood and it will clear a 3” tall filter. |

http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...-51-11-am.jpeg http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...-50-59-am.jpeg Can't wait to put these greens to the test on VP's MS109 fuel. I don't have the injector or fuel pump to run the X85 right now. I'll upgrade those before the year is out but no reason to delay the car when it will be on pump gas 95% of the time http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...-47-54-am.jpeg Complete timing kit from Z1 The container with the motor in it should be delivered today or tomorrow so monday most likely till I can start swapping timing covers etc:happydance: |

Oil pressure sensor/turbo feed block freshly powder coated and re-mocked up on the old motor http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...3a6301311.jpeg http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...8adf48f97.jpeg The catch can powder coated and in place I've ordered new flywheel bolts, pilot bushing and CJ-M's PCV valve delete fittings along with a CMAK from conceptZ. The CMAK for the OS giken ended up being out of stock but that's fine. In my infinite impatience I've broken the upper oil pan hopefully i can get the engine out of the shipping container before friday to see if one is on there or if i have to order a new one. |

That's so exciting and so intensely frustrating. I'd be hooking chains to everyone else's crap and dragging it out of the way.

So this is my first real, professionally built, proper machine shop engine build so all the things that might seem normal are just cool as hell for me to see in person knowing it's for me. Pardon me while I geek out
http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...7286011985.jpg Crank oil galleys were cleaned out and the holes tapped and plugged. Not something that the machine shops on island do. http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...4446432376.jpg Intake port shot. http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...d3362c376.jpeg Exhaust port shot (sorry for sideways) http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...7286011986.jpg Best pic I could manage of a piston and rod http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...7286011993.jpg Tapped the throttle body coolant port on the head crossover to plug it http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...7286011996.jpg I got the VVEL motors, knock sensors and the coolant crossover pipe installed with new gaskets Tonight I'll get the exhaust studs out of the head and install the turbo adapters |
New oil pan ordered from conceptz. Will be able to seal up the bottom end next week when I get back.
Powder coater says he’s waiting on a shipment and can’t coat the timing covers till the end of the month. Bummer |
Cjm?

I could have welded it and had the sealing surface milled but I decided for $265 it wasn't worth it. |
Got the stuff yesterday, can’t wait to get back home and start wrenching

http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...2683593775.jpg Filter on and clears everything http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...2941404229.jpg Passenger side turbo oil feed http://www.the370z.com/members/sirni...2455191569.jpg My oil distribution block. I think I may have gotten too long a line (36in) for the drivers side turbo. At this point there's really nothing more to do but keep my patience in check until the powder coat guy gets everything in stock. |
It does look like that oil line would be uncomfortably close to your front sway bar.
