Hate to say it but exhaust has to go...too low and impossible to park without hitting. oh well...need to find something else that sounds good and tucks up better.

Are you still thinking forced induction (TT)?

wrong on that guess...haha :p now you know why i'm changing mine, eh Adam?

OMGWTFBBQ 01-26-2010 01:28 PM

I don't even know why I keep visiting this thread. I hate this thread.

All it does is make me want to whip out some plastic and get some mods done. Sigh.. Remind me to park VERY far away from you at the meets haha. :icon14:

Nice car by the way.

motoextreme 01-26-2010 04:46 PM

Because all the cool guys are on this thread...HAHHA

Yeah, its not too bad, I'll post a pic of the scratch but its not horrible. Thing is the front is too low so I can't get into my spot at Corporate and I need to back in, back is too low as well.

Is Stillen the way to go, which other ones stay up high and sound good? Not terribly concerned about a few lbs as I am going with Turbos and will have plenty of HP, more then I will need.

Any advice is much appreciated.

theDreamer 01-26-2010 04:53 PM

Besides F.I. exhaust you have:
~Stillen
~Berk - Shipment for first exhausts are mid-feb so if you order now it will be April to get yours.
~Borla
~All the import systems (HKS, Invidia, etc.)

If you don't want to drop a lot of cash, invidia is a good way to go. MXP looks like a decent option, but can't vouch for it.

...go get a JDM exhaust

motoextreme 01-27-2010 12:34 AM

What do the JDM's go for and who sells them? Thanks for the advice!

370ZTUNE.com

I think the JDM exhausts range from the mid $1000's range (Fujimura) to the upper $5000's range (Zele Performance). The average price is about somewhere in the mid $2000's range. Haha. It's pretty pricey if you ask me. :icon14:

motoextreme 01-27-2010 01:23 AM

Scratch that! I'm saving up for that turbo system unless a deal comes through that I keep hearing about. If that happens then great but until then I need to find something a little cheaper.

Too many rich guys on this forum. Is there a poormans Z site?

Paint job? hell, I think he has the most expensive Z at this point, lol. :bowrofl:

G Fo12ce 01-27-2010 10:05 AM

Moto, just put the dual HKS exhaust on mine. You can check it out Thursday. It's not absolutely necissary depending on your goal but you may want something with larger piping for a turbo set up. It tucks and is pretty mellow.

Wut? Man, JDM exhaust right up your alley, you already spent the equivalent of another Z on the car, might as well go all out! I need to get an update on my exhaust too...

Wut deal lol...O_O

GForce I wanna hear that! I missed ilive2win's HKS install on his Z at the AMPLIFIED BBQ, so it'd be nice to hear it in person :)

2theextreme 01-27-2010 10:57 AM

This thread makes me wish I lived in Cali so I can see all these Z's! :p

Thanks man, look forward to seeing it on Thursday. Still working at Corporate all this week so the traffic is crazy but hopefully back to normal soon.

Catch you guys tomorrow night! Looking forward to hanging out. No bitching out!!!!

I think I've spent a total of $300 on my car to date but I may have misplaced a couple of receipts :)

Speaking of...I need one :)

shabarivas 01-28-2010 12:48 PM

I love it but the hood is too shiny man...

vipor 01-28-2010 12:49 PM

it's not supposed to be Matte

I like it personally - tasteful and somewhat subtle accent.

OMGWTFBBQ 01-28-2010 04:34 PM

I might be the only crazy one here, but I actually liked it better when it had that gold pinstripe separating the matte and glossy black parts.

I liked that also, but was 50/50 with the mirror stripe so it was a tough call.

motoextreme 01-29-2010 09:31 AM

Gold was cool but just a little too bling for me. Hood is gloss as well as roof and the rear border.

I'm thrilled with it, kind of one of those cars you need to see in person. Had a ton of props last night at the meet, drew a bit of a crowd but there were some over the top show cars there too that made mine look rough... oh well, fun stuff just the same.

SE 01-29-2010 08:26 PM

Great execution of a finished project. I think you have the first tastefully modded Nismo Z here on the boards, at least what I've seen.

One thing though...LOWER YOUR CAR MORE! It's bugging me. A few posts back you said you wanted to keep the stock ride height but I think you should lower it at least for decent pictures.

Its pretty low man, any lower and I can't get out of driveways. Wheels are a little inside the fenders now, I think much more and I'll rub.

Stopped by to see my Roadster build so far, coming out well but the body had some hidden damage so Im just buying another Body. Cool thing is I found a body for 700 and my stock fenders hood and quarters are worth that. New Motor should arrive Tuesday. Frame is getting modded now and once that's ready off to the powdercoater and sandblaster.

Tell you guys what... Once its done, we'll find a track and you guys can try it out. Should be really something when she's done...excited!

Zguy 02-10-2010 01:50 PM

sick car....

370Zvetlana 02-22-2010 01:21 PM

just wondering how much does such a paint job cost?

Chriz 03-02-2010 01:24 AM

Sad to see it go :(
I just hope whoever takes it will take care of it the way you did.

vipor 03-02-2010 08:28 AM

What's up with your LTH GB Moto? Saw you were on the list yesterday. (Picking up someone's spot that needed to back out.)
