I was thinking something like that but a thinner stripe that starts from the ridges on the hood. I just bought a bunch more parts for her as I've pretty much opted to just turn it into a weekend toy and occasional track car rather then a daily driver. Just a bunch of little parts..tow hook, a few carbon pcs, pulley kit from Fontana Nissan, Ti Shift knob and working with John the carbon guy on some nose vents. I'm an addict!! HAHA

Weight... To my surprise the stock hood is surprisingly light. Kind of hard to tell for sure because the size makes it deceiving but I'd say no more then 5 lbs less. You could tell me they were off by a lb and I'd believe you, stock was pretty light!

PS. Going to the LA Car Show preview night after work, can't wait!!!!!!

I did that with my GSXR1000 back in the day only to crash it on the 60 fwy. One of my fellow employees fell a sleep with a cigar in his mouth (drinking and driving of course), cigar fell out of his mouth, fire dept think it started the carbon on fire and that's how he almost burnt up.

He no longer works for us but looks pretty bad, that said, I dont want too much carbon and considering his M6 wasn't all carbon I'm a little paranoid about going crazy.

Besides, I like it, just a few little bits to separate it from all the other Z's out there

Awesome! Keep us posted.

If I remember correctly, The hood, both doors and roof is made out of aluminum to reduce weight! During research and development, Nissan actually kept this car about 32xx lbs for the longest time. But toward the end, some government safety regulations made the car go slightly over 3300 lbs.

you should paint the hood silver and just leave the two gills carbon. I saw a $100k corvette the other day that did this and it looks sick! he had carbon in all the right spots too! i don't like full carbon, when you buy carbon from differnt companys all over it never matches!

please dont get springs man - you will end up ruining your suspension... well unless you spend a lot of time and money on them - in which case might as well get some decent coils

Actually I already did but after reading some posts I just resold them without even opening them.

Thanks for the input..now I'm considering coil overs but need to save up some extra $ first. I think I would rather do a track day first and see how the Nismo feels as is.

Appreciate the feedback.

That's where I screwed up, would of really liked to get a nice baseline. After the paintshop next week I think I'm going to take Bumblebee's advice and do the ECU remap. Really wanted to go Turbo's initially but SSSOOO pricey! Knowing me, I'll probably do them anyway but not just yet.

I will say this, I know the pulleys don't seem like a big mod but it sure seems to spin a bit faster. The stock pulley was really heavy so I have to think there's something to changing them out.

I also have a couple people interested in the stock wheels, problem is I havent found much I like better.

You doing anything crazy on yours?

I've rolled over 5k (almost 5.2 right now) so I'm comfortable with pushing it

gonna find a cheap dyno day locally and get a few runs in.

I think I'd really like to see what a Lightweight Flywheel and some stock diameter Light Pulleys would do for it. I've heard the FW makes the SRM quick as hell.

Car looks really nice Vipor, checked out your pics. I met up with Dirtydave a couple times from the board, he has your same car. Really like the Nismo in white.

Met up with Tony for a while from FI at the Fontana show. He was telling me I should just do the flywheel at the same time I do the clutch and I'll need to do the clutch when I do Turbo's...

Turbo's, clutch, flywheel....labor....this car is going to break me..HAHAHAH
