Default Robispec Project 370 from Base to wild in 6 days

Picts only Picts
We got the car wendsday prior to our sunday "move in" for the ENKEI booth at SEMA
NOBODY MAKES ANYTHING FOR THIS CAR !
So we go into super fabrication mode!
We get a harness bar (add a pound), LOW seat brackets, race seats, and 6 point harnesses (save 62 lbs), tow hooks front and rear, single 3" exhaust save 35 lbs) (like the buschur bullet muffler!), Full Brake kit (save 47 lbs) full splitter Custom KW dampers with straight rate racing springs. whew! lots of work in very few days!
Check out the new PF01...6 wheels in the country my 4 came direct from Japan air freight (with 2 days to spare!).
Taking orders....dec delivery lighter than the RPF1 and stronger too.

We get the car back from SEMA (but have a race weekend gig) so we get back to the shop monday and tuesday to finish the aero and transform the car from show to GO GO GO! Did not get the LSD promised at SEMA...:-(

and Go it did MANY THANKS TO LEH KEEN! you make anything yo plant your butt in go faster than it should!

I guess having an LSD would have gotten us the win....not smoking the rear inside wheel!

after multiple days without sleep the robispec crew "DIED" on thursday only to resurect for a oil cooler addition on friday and we were ready to go to the Redline Time Attack finals

and back to the track for a second place BY only a 10th of a second in our second competition with the new 370z

OK I was looking through the images from AAA Speedway at the Redling time attack and found a GREAT sequence shot by CALLI photography
Car is still under trail braking going right

Car is now transfering weight to the rear due to adding throttle

Car caught in the exact middle of the right to left transission and a touch of the brake

Trailing throttle and right turn-in weight transfer to outside right corner

Using the curb (still climbing)to cut down the radius of the corner and position the car for the next left hander

just after the peak of the curb note inside front tire still planted

Midway down the backside of the curb front still planted suspension extending
We have a VERY aggerssive rebound speed set into these "Robispec'd" KW's

Front effectively off the curb the tire has never left the ground!
Also note in the last 3 images the car body roll angle has stayed the same (within 1/2 degree)
This is while riding up and over a 6" curb.
This set of Robispec'r KW's has 3" bump and 3"+ droop travel

At full throttle chassis has never lost its "set" (gotten upset) going over the curb to place the car better for the next corner

Thats why Double Adjustable (2 way) long travel suspensions with independant compression and rebound valves ride great on the street while not embarrassing you at the track . I love my Modified KW's

Are the Robispec KW's just a different spring or do they have custom valving as well? I like the idea that they maximize the travel.

Standard NISMO...we just mounted it in the fender with a few custom mounting brackets because the oil coolers that mount in front of the radiator I just don't understand the logic...My oil is now cooler and all the hot air coming off the oil cooler is going to cool the water? So I have cooler oil and hotter water....The NISMO kit leaves some things out like thermostatic oil control, the car runs down the road at 160 degrees(i know too cold), but says right at 240 at the track. and as far as I'm conceren is just a group of someon elses parts, Setrab cooler stainless lines earls fittings and a filter sandwich plate. BUT it was available when we needed it THANKS to Scott at Fontana Nissan!

We have LOTS of experiance doing this kind of work. We are a full service chassis shop (I try to stay out of the engine bay except for bolt ons).
Full chassis weight reduction, cages, custom hard bearing kits and of course KW, AST, JRZ, Penske, and Buddyclub dampers.

I changed the base valves (for more compression) and have run out of adjustment...so I get to do this again (prob will go to the larger base valve at the same time) we decreases the rebound forces and while not out of adjustment they are not in the center of their range so we will lessen the forces there too. The spring rates are still a moving target till we get the hydralic portion perfected. Yesto get the extra front travel we made a low clearance topmount and are using every " of the travel

I love this car, about *hit myself when I saw it at SEMA.

Always been a fan of your shop, from the time I had my Evo, back in the day.

Can't wait to see where this car goes. Keep up the good work.

Pretty amazing that you were able to create customized suspension in that short space of time. Excellent work.
