A.Stewart4242's Completely Outdated D/D (Daily Drift) Thread

As implied by the title, you can expect that this thread will be out-of-date. I am horrible with updating social media, forums, and my Amazon wish list. I will update it every chance I remember; but chances are, I will mod my car, and forget to post pictures or updates until a month later.

Alright, now onto the car... My goal is to turn this ride into a Daily Drift vehicle... Comfortable enough that I can drive it every day, yet aggressive enough to hold it's own at events. When I purchased this vehicle at a local dealership, I didn't know that it had originally belonged to a friend.

His mods include:

- Fast Intentionz header-back exhaust
- Fast Intentionz Oil-cooler
- Exedy Clutch
- Headlight LED halos (red)
- Stillen Intake
- Uprev tune w/ 5 maps
- Pioneer Headunit

Since then, I've added:

- Kaaz Super-Q 2-way differential
- Nismo Diff cover
- Whiteline diff bushings
- Powertrix R/T coilovers w/ Swift Spring upgrade
- 19" Verde Parallax wheels
- SPL alignment components (rear)
- Focal 6.5" access coaxials
- Fastguy9r hitch

Ok, so how many mods have you installed in the last 30 minutes? :icon17:

This looks like fun. Enjoy the build. :driving:

And pics are always good, but what I really enjoy is video. If you have the chance to get some sideline or on-car footage, we'd love to see it. :tiphat:

New mods to come:

- CJM road race fuel pump/surge tank
- just got in, need to get it installed
- Fly1 Motorsports AMS body kit
- Should be arriving within next week or two
- Custom fiberglass hatch area

While I'm stoked about all these mods, I'm really excited about the fiberglass hatch. 1) it will include two 12" sub enclosures, and 2) will be removable for drift events within 5 minutes, and 3) I'm building it myself

Last 30 minutes were spent building a little bit more on the box... I should say, that the thread will most likely be outdated by the end of the month... As for videos, I'll hopefully get some as soon as I get the car back on the road.

$hit! You were serious lol

That hatch enclosure could be really impressive in the end. I'm looking forward to the finished product.

JARblue - Thanks, I'm looking forward to it too. I've done a few fiberglass boxes before, but this one's the most in depth. I'm just hoping I get it all done before school starts back up at the end of the month. I've been teaching my wife how to lay fiberglass, so if it's not finished in time, I'll see if I can get her to take over some of it!

Let's see how long I can keep this thread up to date! Just got word that Fly1 has my kit done, and it is soon to ship! Stoked to get my car put back together. As for the sub box, I just got my shipment in of fiberglass and resin, and it's starting to take shape. I know most people use mat fiberglass for boxes, but this 40 oz cloth is insanely easy to use, only takes a couple layers, and reduces sanding time.http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08...16db525073.jpg

Here's a test fit before I clean it up. Got to fill some around the edges, but I think it's coming along pretty well!http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08...3afc1ed0ea.jpg

Anytime I'm working with chemicals, I make sure that I'm safe and keep a respirator on in a well ventilated area. However, I was letting the resin dry inside my garage, and the fumes were making there way into the house. While I didn't smell them, I did begin vomiting nightly and getting headaches. I've had this before; when I was in the Air Force, my squadron didn't see a need to add ventilation to the hangar that we did a large amount of painting and composite repairs in... When they realized that I had a brain injury, I was retired out. Needless to say, I've only had the resin drying for a few days in there, so no more damage has been done from that, but I do need be more careful. I'm going to be building a PVC paint/fiberglass shed in the driveway so I don't have the fumes creeping into the rest of the house.

Just got my kit on from Fly1 motorsports, and damn, you can see the quality in it, hopefully I'll have a chance to get it installed next week. Got an Incubus/Deftones concert tomorrow, and Slightly Stoopid/Expendables/Dirty Heads concert the next.http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08...ef2873a293.jpg
