Wow great, you could reach my target, 3400 lbs with the added weight of boosting it, what a beast
My car current weight exactly 3522 lbs. seats should save 40 lbs at least Steering wheel, don't know how much Clutch/flywheel around 10 lbs maybe change whiteline swaybars with front Hotchkis (should be lighter holo vs solid) and remove front bumper beam. myself around 40 lbs, 60 lbs preferably 3400 lbs should be possible I don't want to reach the point where I remove all interior panels and dampening, as I still want to be able to drive it on streets whenever I like. |
Agreed!

The Z is back on the road, although, not in a perfect condition.
These the replacement I received from Z1, thanks to Russ for contacting SPL and getting one side parts for me. http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1503956477 The car sucks with oem rays :roflpuke2: the gap in the fenders is unwatchable. http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1503956477 I tamed down the alignment, it was around -2.3 front camber and -2.0 rear camber, I went down to -1.5 front and -1.2 rear. Stock toe and +6.8 caster, just to try its effect, I was at +6 before. I will cut the airbags and stitch the roof, the seat side isn't important any more and will DD it for a while, until I get the new clutch or the slave cylinder give up. |
No new updates to the car, I have been busy lately and lazy when I am free lol
Today went to install my RE71r on stock wheels to use with the opening of the season, I saw some crack in the side wall and canceled the plan. Not sure if getting half set is viable or getting complete R888R set, as difference in tread may make traction difference at each corner, as I think. So, first trackday will star my Charger SRT, and I will be either buying one front and one rear RE71R or buying a full set R888R with F265 R295. |

Finally got the car back on streets and mostly ready to hit the track again, minus front tires. Bought R888R to use this season, 265/30/19 fronts and 295/30/19 rears. The tires are a lot shorter than stock and didn't like it, but the car will not see much street miles.
I did few touches to the car, door handles, brake duct brackets, brake calipers, tow hook, not that big things but hope it give my car more clean look. |
Went to test new external mic setup and it went well
but felt a vibration under braking, I will check front swaybar and endlinks and all suspension components again after changing the front tires. |
Trying my new microphone setup and checking the car, no hot lapping, and couldn't trust the brakes because my fronts were old PSS (and overheat easily) and the alignment is way off, I replaced the fronts with R888R (the same as rear tires) and got a new alignment last Sunday (trying -2.2 front, -2.0 rear with stock toe and +6 caster). I will test the car again this weekend.

From my last trip to the track, it was a time attack event, where I got a little lucky with all the problems I faced, finished second, but I have the following problems:
- Brake pedal feel was off, it wasn't the tires, looks like there maybe air in brake lines. - vibration under hard braking, also thought the tire change will solve it, I will go back to stock rotors and see if it goes. - Clutch fluid getting hot, or maybe csc, so slipping when I try to shift fast. - Also, diff issues, because it feels like slipping clutch when I exit a turn and go to full throttle, was very noticeable in qualification where we got longer sessions. So, this means more money to spend :bowrofl: and this is my final run, classification where off and I was against a C63s and M3 in final, the M3 was on slicks and didn't know why they didn't change its class to higher one. |
nice run bro!

These updates are great for us enthusiasts that would love to do what you are doing but may not have the opportunities to do so! Keep them coming! |

Thanks guys, thanks a lot for showing interest and support, I will continue posting for sure as it give me an idea of how much I progressed and keep me on track of what I want to do, as well as showing the capability of our platform although it is old now, but it is very competitive in the local events I participated in.
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1511368180 As black Friday is very soon, I made a list that should be met by end of next week: 1- Trackspec hood vents (full set) (bought) 2- Mishimoto 370Z / G37 Performance Aluminum Radiator (bought) 3- Z1 370Z Silicone Radiator hoses (bought) 4- Z1 2 Piece Akebono Front and Rear Rotor Rebuild Kit (bought) 4- Z1 High Capacity Differential Cover (bought) 5- SPL Differential Solid Bushings (bought) 6- ZSpeed CMAK Clutch Movement Alteration Kit CSC Delete 7- OS Giken GT Street Master Clutch Kit Mono Metal Hard Cover (bought) 8- OS Giken Super Lock LSD Spec-S (bought) 9- CJM Fuel Pump Hut (have it) Fluids: 1- Red Line MT-85 (bought) 2- Motul 75w140 Differential Fluid (bought) 3- MOTUL Multi-ATF Power Steering Fluid (bought) New parts for LSD install: 2x OEM Differential Side Bearing 38440-0C000 (bought) 2x OEM Differential Side Seal 38342-P9010 (bought) 1x OEM Differential Pinion Inner Bearing 38120-0C000 (bought) 1x OEM Differential Pinion Crush Sleeve 38165-0C020 (bought) 1x OEM Differential Pinion Outer Bearing 38140-0C00A (bought) 1x OEM Differential Front Seal 38189-P0117 (bought) 1x OEM Differential Cover Vent Tube 38356-JL00A (bought) 1x OEM Rear Differential Output Shaft VLSD LH 38220-JK01B (bought) 1x OEM NISMO Final Drive Gear 3.9 38100-0B66A (bought) other New parts: 1x OEM Fuel Pump Assay 17040-1EA0B (bought) 2x OEM Front Wheel Bearing / Hub Assembly 40202-4GA0A (bought) 2x OEM Rear Wheel Bearing / Hub Assembly 43202-4GA0B (bought) Still not sure if I should buy OEM thermostat or buy 170F thermostat, Don't want to buy Mishimoto as the temperature is very low for NA car. (solved, buying part no. 21200-4W000) Looks like a lot of work ahead for my mechanic  |
Updated the list in previous post, in contact to buy the few parts remained.
I participated in track day yesterday, Friday November 24th, but didn't take the Z there, as I didn't see a point in heat cycling the tires without having the time to return stock rotors and bleeding the brakes. But, I drove my friend cars and tested my new cam (Sony X3000), First was VW Golf Clubsport 5 doors hatch, with APR stage 2 (mid torque), and nitto nt01 (worn out ones :D), the other one was a typical Subaru BRZ, which are in every corner of the track, this particular car has full exhaust, coilovers, strut bars, swaybars, front AP racing BBK, rpf01 wrapped in R888R, and stock tune but with auto blip. So to start, my fastest lap in the 370z was 2:27 with RE71R. I did it in 2:28 in Clubsport (second in video) and 2:30 in BRZ (last, but did a faster one but forgot to start the cam). I can write my impressions but this is my car thread :p |

They are here :yum:
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1512555315 Ordered most items and more than what I wanted :bowrofl: also changed some parts, now waiting them to arrive and then will post all parts. |
Yeaaah!
|
No real updates :icon17:
Very lazy to change the setup and try as there will be big changes to the drivetrain, instead just using it as is. I had a trackday last Thursday, this time no free rides, instead my car got a free ride, a friend who got a great experience (recently joined 12 hours race at Spa and got first with his team) Also, he had a 370z before, he was a member here. First me driving and messing with a Lambo, :ughdance: had two incidents but the second were worse, a moment separating our crash @4:50 (I thought he will stop and go right but suddenly went left after his initial move) Here just my usual stuff. Finally my friend driving, he complained about the shifter afterward, luckily SRM to the rescue  |
Damn that was some wild stuff in the first vid chasing the Aventador. Where is the track marshalls???? You guys were going way to fast with a spun car on the track. I'm sure somebody would have been black flagged or banned at any of the tracks near me.
None the less, very nice save. |
Wow that was a hair raising moment, thank god there wasn't any contact. Nice stuff!
|
Yeah, I am thankful we have avoided it. You are right MaysEffect, the marshall should have raised the yellow flag, I assume there was time for the marshall to act and show the flag before we reach the turn, and to make it worse, I had a friend driving a BRZ at my back :shakes head:.

Awesome videos bro!
|
Nice driving, good lines. Great safe.

Thank you bros
Until I get all the parts I ordered and do the work, I cannot say I am totally satisfied with the car performance right now, yes the car feel is good, but the brakes aren't that consistent, it has improved from the time attack event after I re-bleeded them, got Castrol SRF now, I will change the pads to nearly new Carbotech XP10/8 (I will get them from a friend) with new rotor disks to see if my current pads and disks are the issue (before considering going BBK route). Also, the suspension needs some tweaks to get it where I like with the new tires. and there was a change of the parts I listed before, Changed the clutch to OS Giken HTR2CD (new model but should work with zspeed solutions), as the single GT isn't compatible with any CSC solution available, and OS themselves recommended the one I went for after explaining all my needs. Got a rear 10mm spacer with ARP extended studs for all wheels, and Z1 subframe collars. Also purchased Superpro bushings. but looks like the parts will be delayed a little :eekdance: something I am used to, but don't like. (Currently received the wheels, radiator, oem fuel pump, cjm top hat, and thermostats). |

No new updates, everything postponed until I return from Spain, I will go on Saturday, and will not be back for two weeks, at least, my orders should be delivered when I get back.
I made an order with Joe@zspeed for OS Giken CMAK kit, yes, they are available now. Also, Z1 shipped most of my parts with exception for 4 items, which shouldn't be an issue to install all other parts. |
Update
That was super quick from Joe, I received my CMAK on Saturday before traveling, kudos to him, very helpful guy, I was insisiting on him for the past weeks on when he will finish OS specific kit. Also my brother received my Z1 shipment today. Photos will follow when I have time. Now I can say all parts are in place, time for some serious work. |
nice!!!!!!!

Forgot to include this, Zspeed CMAK for OS Giken clutches http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1517958394 Also, I have RJM HD CMC and CJM fuel pump hat :yum: such a beautiful piece, shame it will be hidden, even my mechanic is impressed with it. So after I posted the photos, I have a little time to summarize the work that is in progress. 1- Transmission: OS Giken HTR2CD (more hardcore than STR but less than TR and TS if I remember correctly). Zspeed CMAK CSC delete RJM HD CMC Fresh oil and clutch fluid (MT85 & SRF) 2- Differential: Also OS Giken Nismo Final drive ratio 3.9 SPL diff bushings Z1 high capacity diff cover Z1 subframe collars All new bearings, sleeves, seals OS Oil 3- Brakes and hubs: All axles new Z1 rotors ring Front Carbotech XP10 and XP8 rear All axles new wheel hubs ARP extended studs 10mm rear spacers (to get front +22 offset and rear +12) And open end lug nuts for the extended studs 4- MOAR Cooling: Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator Infiniti G37 thermostats (10 degree less than 370z) Z1 hoses Nissan blue antifreeze + Mocool 5- Others: New fuel pump + CJM hat SuperPRO Urethane Bushes - front lower arm - rear control arm - rear trailing arm. Fresh Castrol Edge 0w40 Nismo oil filter Fresh Motul ATF for power steering and finally installed my R888R on ZE40 :yum: will take the chance to clean air intake filters. Also, will get new corner balance. Currently, the transmission has been finished, the diff looked like near finish when I passed by, the hubs-brakes were in progress as well as fuel pump, rest are pending. I hope tomorrow or Thursday the car will be ready. This was the big upgrade I was hoping to do during last summer, but the accident delayed all plans, nevertheless, it is happening now and I am very excited to see the results. |

Those sexy wheels :happydance: welcome back on the car
http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1518020951 And I am still able to amaze my workshop with new parts :rofl2: one of my friends and a very old member who sold his 370z a long time ago, was looking in his store and found these, called me and I snapped them http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1518020951 Rear subframe and diff still down, needed shims and luckily found them at dealer. Also, rear sway bar will get back on the car, as I feel current stagger setup needs them badly. http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1518020951 Those are finished, I know they are only studs but they looks awesome :icon17: http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1518020951 Radiator in place as well http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1518020951 Took the chance to clean the filters. http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1518020951 I think I need new hoses, found them cracked in some places and have been taped as a quick fix. http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1518020951 The bad news, there is only 5 trackdays left this season, one is tomorrow that I cannot participate in (maybe will use the srt or use a friend car) and four autox events, not sure if they will add more events later on. I need to finish it quickly and break in the clutch. |
