You two coming down early or not? Pat and I were just down there the day after Xmas with some friends. They made reservations at the Fontana lodge Sunday through Wednesday before ZDayZ. We'll be headed down again on Sunday before so we can explore the area. The Harrah's Cherokee casino in Cherokee is nice with a Ruths Chris and Johnny Rockets if I recall correctly. There is Fontana Lake of course which I believe you can rent boats. Sylva has the German Beer, Microbrewery, Sylva, North Carolina Brewery German Brewery where Dieter brews up some great beers, plus Innovation Brewing—Sylva NC Brewery Innovation Brewing.

In Bryson City you have the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad where you can spend day traveling on the train up to the Olympic Kayak training center and see the area unlike any other way. Bryson City also has the Nantahala Brewery, a sports bar/pub, Italian restaurant, train museum, souvenier shopping, etc.

Anyhow, several things to do there in the area.
