Best way to attack sintering on wheels?
So I have a friend who just bought an older subie bugeye and has a sintering issue from the previous owner.
I suggested Sonax and he has only had limited success. Iron Cut vanished from the market (possibly hazardous). I choked on the fumes a couple times. Any suggestions from detail wizards? |

Yep that's it. Check the sketchy order form. Detailers Domain sold it for a while.

Will a clay bar get it out? Also, did Iron-X disappear as well?

I don't know if clay will get it out. Iron-X is still out there. Actually haven't tried it.

According to the MSDS http://www.aquartz.co/web/doc/msds_ironcut.pdf (the editor is not letting me insert proper links), it's Ammonium thioglycolate (<27.0%), Maltitol (< 10.0%), D-Sorbitol (< 14.0%), and water (> 45.0%), plus some "Additive". Maybe you can find something with a similar composition. |
Iron-X was going to be my reco. The Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner actually works a bit better than Sonax and only needs light agitation to really remove just about every bit of brake dust from clearcoated wheels.

Thanks. Appreciate the feedback.
