It sucks, but you cant make everyone happy.

This is what I deal with every day. Just trying to explore other options. It's pretty clear Rockville would alienate too many people.

I'm 100% content with the geographical location of the Columbia meet... I just hate the Target parking lot!

4r3s 12-04-2013 09:00 AM

Arundel Mills is acceptable in my opinion. I'm fine with glen burnie type areas as well.

Once you force me to get onto 495 to make a meet you can pretty much rule me out.

Another suggestion:
10000 Baltimore Nat'l Pike, Ellicott City, MD ‎

Didn't we move out of the target lot to the side of the kabob place? Or are you including that as well?

Including that as well. The problem with meeting there is that you have to walk even further, through lots of vehicle traffic, just to get back to the Target to get your coffee.

MyKindaGuise 12-04-2013 09:11 AM

Im happy with the sameish area as long as it isn't too much further. I still make it down once in a while that way.

Just throwing this out there. Why are we looking at making another meet closer to DC? I hate driving to Fairfax because of all the traffic and if I'm going to go its because I'm going to visit my brother afterwards. Rockville and the like are just the same as driving all the way to Fairfax as far as I'm concerned. There really is nothing wrong with the current Columbia meet place. I think some are just butt hurt that no one is attending meets regularly in the winter. Sorry, but I'm not interested in standing in a parking lot and freezing my arse off.

If anything I'd propose a place further north to help spread out meet up areas. For example the Hunt Valley Town Center. There's no starbucks but there are other coffee shops there.

If the Columbia meet up location gets moved further south I will no longer be attending meet ups at all. Sorry.

You're way off base. We had a really solid turnout in Columbia last week. It's just not a great meeting location.

With all due respect, I've been coming to both Fairfax and Columbia meets without complaint and both are a hike for me. It was just a suggestion. I certainly won't throw a fit and threaten not to come to meets anymore if I my suggestion is turned down.

On a less sarcastic note....Are we big enough to have sub groups? Like MAZOC North and MAZOC South?

This makes my picture even more hilarious... :bowrofl:

m4a1mustang 12-04-2013 09:53 AM

As it is now, guys, Fairfax and Columbia cover the member map the best. They are both within a 30 minute drive of 95% of the members, so we should try to keep the Columbia meet somewhere in that area.

Yes, for the reasons I stated above. If we move, we need a better location with a standalone Starbucks.

Why does there need to be a starbucks?

Seems like the main reason behind the move is to get to a stand alone Starbucks.

1) It's in a Target parking lot. People have literally driven through our meets before because lol Target I guess.

2) No stand-alone starbucks

3) It's elevated and cold as hell in the winter because of the wind.

4) It sucks in the summer because there's no shade or grass nearby. Look at the fairfax location? Plenty of shade, it's out of the way, we can bring our dogs etc.

m4a1mustang 12-04-2013 11:05 AM

So, lets find a standalone Starbucks within a few miles of Columbia that can host us. Arundel Mills looks like the best one so far. Plus there's a mall RIGHT THERE.

Trust me there isn't.lol were among the youngest here. I Think you are the first sub 21 person I have met so far other than myself. Nothing wrong with that though. Most of these guys are great to hang out with. They are like teenagers...just older and a bit more grumpy.

There's a few young dudes.. Mykindaguise (cody) he's a young dude, but unfortunately lives in PA, he comes down every once in a while. Him and I and his buddy Pat, love working on the Z, so if you ever need any help, we're here for ya. I live off the BWI parkway, so you're not too far away.

We are definitely an older group but don't let that scare you. We tend to be more mature than most young people car clubs, though.

Check out the website that I desperately need to update: mazoc.net

Hopefully we can meet you at a meat soon. Or meat you at a meet. Whichever comes first. :yum:

It wasn't a threat. Its just the reality of the situation.

I don't care if you move the meet location somewhere near where it currently is which seems to be the consensus as it is. However, I do believe moving the meet all together to a suburb of DC will alienate the majority of the MD members.

Maybe someone should create a poll of a few locations and let MAZOC members vote on it. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about and others want to drive to the DC area for a meet.
