Vegas Planning Thread

Dunno if we're really going to do this but I figured if we are, we need a thread to coordinate:

-Flights
-Hotel
-Fight tickets
-General plans

I plan on flying out thursday afternoon or friday morning and staying somewhere in the Luxor/MGM/NY NY complex. Get into trouble on Fri night, then Sat is the fight. Sunday I plan on finding a sports book and watching the NFL day games then fly home that evening.

Nice!:happydance: Im not sure if this is in my budget though.

So it seems like UFC tickets aren't as hard to get as I thought. I'd say I'm like 99% confirmed for the trip at this point. Tickets for the fight go on sale sometime in September and I'll be booking flight + hotel probably after I get the tickets. I think my sister and I were leaning towards the MGM Grand hotel because that's where the fight is going to be. We're planning on flying out Wednesday and coming back some time on Sunday (Dec 25-29).

This trip is for the Silva vs Weidman II fight on Dec 28th. We're trying to decide between upper level tickets for like ~$325 and lower level tickets for ~$525.

You can go to ticketmaster and look up tickets for UFC 167: GSP vs Hendricks to get an idea for pricing. It's a month before the Silva fight and at the same venue so pricing should be similar.

I'm assuming we want to sit in the same general area for the fight right?

b1adesofcha0s 08-02-2013 08:57 AM

It would be nice, but it won't be a guarantee. From what I saw on ticketmaster it didn't seem like you could choose a specific section. It just gives you the best avsilable seats. I guess we could try and buy seats in the same section, but it might take a bit of coordinating when buying the tickets.

My sister and I are leaning towards the $525 seats and if someone doesn't want to spend that much then we don't have to all sit together.

That's a ton of money for a fight seat. I dunno I'll have to think about it. I wanna do Z nationals this year too.

He's sane and doesn't gamble or drink.

Me on the other hand, not so much.

What all you guys planning to do?

dmhenderson 08-02-2013 09:43 PM

Well we're both planning on seeing the fight. I think our plans...diverge after that.

Yeah pretty much. Like Mark said, I don't drink or gamble so I can budget more money for better seats. I'm primarily going there for the fight, the rest of the time is just bonus vacation. Figured it's one of those things that I might never do again and since we're making such a big trip out of it we might as well make the best of the opportunity.

I have no idea what we're gonna do outside of the fight. Would like to do some car stuff, but it's probably not gonna fit in the budget with us spending so much on the fight tickets. I'm sure we can have fun just exploring Vegas :icon17:
