I used to be in the same boat. Sony has screwed over their customers too many times in my opinion for me to stay loyal. The whole removing capabilities on the ps3 that I had been using for years previously was the line in the sand for me. Not to mention the ps4 actually has less capability (media center wise) than the ps3. I just don't get the appeal of consoles anymore. Why you would want to be locked down in that type of environment that doesn't promote open development is beyond me. As soon as I can ditch Windows for gaming and give Microsoft the big middle finger I will be a very happy gamer!

Well the controller is honestly only slowing you down in shooters but of course you can connect your controller to your pc. It is all microsoft after all. They are annoying me though that they haven't released drivers for the new controllers and the stupid thing has been available for 3 or so months now...

I'm about to cancel my TV service and just use my Internet for Watching shows, the only thing holding me back are sports. I have a media center pc in my living room thats beefy enough to game on as well. I understand it doesn't make sense for everyone else. I'm just saying what I do. If you're happy with what you have then that's great!

why would i? lol xbox is the only thing for me.

i see zero reason to waste money on a PC if it's just for gaming. i have a cell phone for PC needs and a Xbox for gaming.

Do you not work on some form of a computer? It has high upfront costs but games are cheaper and it's easy to upgrade parts individually. Obviously also does many other things as a basic computer or advanced things like photo/video editing. I guess if you really dont need those things console makes sense. I have both and see the appeal of each one.

But buying xb1 just for one game is steep. You're already 500 invested, plus 60 for the game.

i work on one obviously but never touch a laptop or pc at home except for game capture.

500 upfront cost but that lasts me years lol

think about it as entertainment time vs cost.

movie - 2 hours entertainment: $15 15/2=$7.5 per hour paid of entertainment

xbox - 5-7 years with around 5 hours a day avg.: $500 + $500 in games.

365*5(years)= 1825(days) *5(hours a day played avg.)= 9125 hours total life timere played on console. very rough estimate and avgs. considering yesterday i put in 7 hours gaming and 11 hours at work :shakes head:

sooo 1000/9125 = .1096 per hour paid for entertainment

this had nothing to do with previous conversation i just really went on a mental tangent and had to finish it out lol :bowrofl:

It's the upfront costs that keep me from PC gaming. There's also some console games that I can't let go of.

PC gaming is like owning a luxury car. You pay a lot extra for marginal improvements, but once you get used to it you can't go back.

I guess depends on personal preference. Im more of a console gamer myself. But I do use my pc quite a bit for games as well. My comment was more geared toward so called ps fanboys buying xb1 for one game.
