Go ahead. Try DotA 2. In fact I have a free steam gift for you if you want it. You can have it for free.
It has the worst playerbase of any game I have ever played. I freaking dare you. |

I have a 360 but I really use it for netflix more than anything else. There was a time not too long ago where I played State of Decay and Terraria for a while there but I think I'm over that.
On my list of things to buy if I ever have time are Bioshock Infinite and Dishonored but I doubt I'll ever actually do it. |

You can't unless you have a mission to clear infestations and then someone will tag along automatically. The trick is to use a vehicle to paste the guys outside before you try to enter the house.
Easiest way to do it is to get someone who's proficient with a rifle and start popping the ones roaming around outside which will draw a crowd. Get back in your car and just run them all over. Wash, rinse, repeat. After that it's only a matter of clearing the few dudes inside (usually a screamer or two). The most important part of that game is to always carry at least 3 energy boosting items and 3 health regens and ALWAYS leave yourself an out if sh*t goes sideways. Edit: The military chick (Marla) and Marcus are the two most well-rounded characters in the game. Marcus gets a huge bonus to melee damage so spec him in heavy or blunt weapons and just go to town. He's the most efficient because he also gets endurance bonuses etc later on. Marla is fantastic at sniping and the gun she comes with is one of a kind. I prefer the bolt action rifle she has at the start over the semi-autos you can get later in the game due to reload speed and recoil. Once you spec her in rifles she even gets a "bullet time" ability where you can slow time and just annihilate everything. Either of them can take down hordes all by themselves - esp marcus once he gets his advanced melee stuff where he's piledriving/suplexing zombies all over the place. Charging into a horde of zombies with a pipe wrench and just wrecking sh*t is fun as hell. |

Only character I've lost so far was to a feral. In case you weren't aware, once they pounce on you they have an insta-kill if you are below half health. Kinda sucks because you cannot run from them and they are constantly on you (they leap like hunters from L4D). The big guys do too but they're pretty easy to avoid. |

Your priorities:
-Keep all stockpiles above 0. Use your radio if you are low on one particular item and for 10 influence, the radio girl will locate the item for you on your map (nearest resource location). Food and medical supplies are plentiful. Ammo and building materials are the most scarce. Look for building materials in warehouses and sheds. Ammo can be found in a a few gun shops and in people's homes occasionally. You get a huge ammo infusion near the end of the game so don't panic if you're running low. -Keep morale up but don't worry about it TOO much. Morale hits you take from refusing "so and so is mad at the world" missions are minor. I have yet to find a use for "friendship" between characters so don't worry about it. The only caveat to this is that if your camp is small and EVERYONE is scared/mad/whatever, you can't call in supply runs because characters become "unavailable" if they are being bitchy. -As soon as you can get out of the church, LEAVE. Move to the Snyder Trucking Warehouse in the next town over (head out of town to the right and hang a left before you hit the barricaded bridge). Upgrade it to the max with the following: -Fully upgraded Medical Facility - for multiple reasons I won't get into. -Fully upgraded sniper tower -Dojo -Sleeping Barracks -Library Don't bother with the other stuff. None of it is worthwhile. The warehouse is a great place to set up your end-game run. DO NOT MOVE to the carnival once it becomes available because depending on how much scavenging you've done, you may not have enough resources to build it completely. This ended up screwing me. That plus the "freak" zombie spawns are much higher near the carnival meaning you have to deal with ferals, big bastards etc much more often. On top of that, getting in and out of the carnival "base" is a huge PITA and the annoying pop-up missions you get will take 2-3x as long to complete due to accessibility issues. The end game can easily be completed from the trucking warehouse. |

now you just need to get on xbox more often to play games. i'm on there probably 5+ hours a night lol |
Also:
-Whoops forgot the workshop. You need at least a level 2 workshop. The 3rd level is optional. -Edged weapon spec is worthless because they break too fast unless you want to try to haul around 2 of them - which is a handicap. -Blunt/heavy weapon specs are great. IMO the pipe wrench is probably the best weapon in the game. -Firearm specs: Rifle > Pistol > everything else. SMGs and assault rifles are great but there just isn't enough ammo to use one outside of emergency situations and then you're left with a character that has a spec you can't use 99% of the time. -Leaving a weapon that's in "yellow/about to break" status in an item chest for 24 hrs (2 hrs of game time) will repair it if you have an upgraded workshop. |
Anyone here have experience with the new 7 series nVidia GPU's?

I'm pretty anti loyal since switching. Awesome performance for price and the driver updates always give the best performance boosts I've seen. I'll be getting a 9970 most likely. I am hoping to push 4k display soon. |

I keep telling myself I should build a new computer because mine is definitely old but it handles everything I throw at it just fine. Am I running ultra high settings on everything? No, but most everything runs on high which is good enough. I also keep telling myself just wait till HL3 comes out to build a new computer. I might be waiting a while if that's the case. I think the current plan is to build a new computer after the new consoles are released because then game developers as a whole will be trying to push the architecture's limits again. Other than crysis which I actually skipped 3 there aren't any games out there that really bring my computer to it's knees.
Intel core 2 duo extreme edition @4GHz 8GB RAM corsair dominator evga 780i mobo nvidia 680 vid card 120GB raptor drive I've been just updating the video card as needed over the years. Man this thing is 6-7 years old now!! I'm over due. |
My current rig just turned 1 year old this past April.
Before I was running: Core 2 Duo @ 3.3GHz 8GB DDR2 512mb 9800 GTX 80GB Raptor HDD + 2GB Seagate storage HDD When all the new stuff came out last year I went ahead and built my current machine, yes I splurged just a tad bit :yum: Ivy Bridge 3570k @ 4.6GHz 16GB DDR3 2 x GTX680 4GB total video memory 120GB Vertex 4 SSD for OS/Programs 250GB Vertex 4 SSD for games 2GB Seagate - carried over from old machine http://oi39.tinypic.com/3an4p.jpg |
I have not yet ventured into the world of PC gaming. Console gaming is enough for me.

Anyone else mad that they're releasing all these good games for PS3 in like September right before the PS4 launches? GTA V, GT6, Ratchet and Clank Nexus, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD. How am I supposed to play all of those before PS4 comes out? I mean GTA itself I could play for like 4 months and not get bored.

It's still a bluray disc, but the PS4 is not backwards compatible. That means it won't play any PS3 games.

Which is why I want to keep a working PS3. I want to be able to play all my PS3 games if I want to in the future. I still have my PS2 for all my PS2 games.
