Yeah Comcast was great when I had it, I averaged usually ~15 ping on east coast servers. When I moved into my new house and got Fios my ping is always below 9 now.

I don't think I'm quite nerdy enough for this thread, or maybe just a different kind of nerd.....

I rarely ever play games online, but it would be cool to play with some friends. I usually prefer just playing the single player story and then being done with a game.

Man you don't know what you're missing. I love co-op play online. I prefer PC online though since the community is more mature than console gamers. My big vice back in college was Final Fantasy XI Online. I was so hooked on on that game I almost failed a semester as an undergraduate. :bowrofl:

Up Up down down left right left right B A select start

I still play that.

Konami really changed things when they brought out the first cheat code. Its a shame you don't see much of that sorta thing anymore.

For me, I like playing online if it's with someone I know. I usually end up doing local multiplayer rather than online though. I also don't play any FPS games so that takes away what most people play online. These days though I don't even have time to play games as much as I want to.

Remember game genie?

OMFG when I was in 4th grade and got that for Christmas back in 92, I didnt leave my room until school started back up a week later.

it was so frustrating though when you had a game that wasnt in the booklet though.

dude, I still play rocket arena with some friends on occasion, love that game! My bread and butter was CS 1.6 and I eventually made in roads to CS:source. I used to work at a pc gaming center several years ago. People would buy time to play any of the 100+ games we had installed on the 16 computers we had. That was a fun job, **** for pay, but fun. During those years I competed in cal-o and cal-i if any of you even know what those are. I get absolutely stomped now when I try to play CS, I'm waaay out of practice.

I'm in a niche IT job right now, I have an BS in electrical engineering and I have a substantial background with supporting home to small business computing systems. Today I support specific engineering software that is used to design and manufacture printed circuit boards. I've built all my own computers except the laptops.

I'm rocking FIOS at home, got a free upgrade by rolling my cellular bill and internet bill into one and have 50 down 25 up

Man remember having to take the cartridge out of the SNES system and blowing on it to get he dust out so the system could load the game.

I never had one of those, but I hated when a game's only cheat codes were for game genie.

Dont feel bad, I didnt have the internet until I was a sophomore in HS. That was in 97.

33.6k modem. I remember a computer with a 56k modem was so much more expensive.

I had the NES version. I actually have my NES and SNES still and the both work. I actually busted the NES out a couple of months and did a run through of the original Zelda. And yes, I still have that game memorized...Wish I knew what happened to my game genie, probably got stolen during college.

I also have my brother's Atari 2600, it was just a little before my time but I still played the f out of it. Its not in so great shape unfortunately, I'm sure it would work though if I took the time to fix the video output cable.
