I agree with that, but in this situation, the initial date was months out, and once it was rescheduled even that was a month and a half out, if memory serves me correct.

This. It's not easy to try and align the schedule of ~20 people to find a Saturday that everyone is free. Don't forget that we've had this bbq the past 2 years without these problems. Things just didn't work out so well this year, it's not really a big deal.

I think doing the voting/poll on certain weekends a month out works best, so there's a consensus. Just my opinion.. it sucks things didn't work out for this one. Blades, you did a good job organizing it.

Previous BBQ were held earlier in the season I believe, which made it easier for more people to come. August/September is the end of the summer/beginning of the school year and most people are cramming in the last minute vacation or getting ready for school and what not. Makes it tough.
