:iagree: Anyone who lies about that should be punished. There are some cool judges that could come up with creative punishments (like holding a sign in front of you to be blasted into cyberspace for all to see). But I do not think lying about being a vet is not a crime, only if you acquire federal/state benefits by telling that lie. However, I think I did hear of an individual who received preferrential treatment for hiring because they were a combat vet. When it was discovered, they immediately lost their job and were arrested. Don't remember hearing the result of the trial.

I could of swore it was a crime.

Formerly a crime to falsely claim award of a Medal of Honor. Law (federal at least) rescinded.

I think representing it on the street versus representing it on a legal document would probably be very different.

Some quick research from a case in California that went to the Supreme Court:

"The U. S. Supreme Court struck down the Stolen Valor Act, which made it a crime to lie about military service.

By a 6-3 decision, the high court said the right to lie about medals and military service is protected by free speech."


I don't Like it one bit! :mad: I'm proud of my service and those that have served, and don't like hearing when someone is lying about their service, but I guess we provide (provided) protection for those individuals to say what they want...

You cant say any better than that.. it sucks and its very unfortnate that people will stoop that low.

Pull up to dinner. Chick with an acoustic guitar is playing "ring of fire" as some sort of dumb love ballad instead of Johnny Cash asskicking. We are having none of that sh*t. Coming home. Pulling out of turn lane (going right) onto empty 4 lane highway. "Hey let's see what happens". Stomp on gas, rear end immediately goes crazy, turn into skid, full 4 wheel drift across 3 lanes before it catches and we launch forward while I'm laughing like a maniac. Girlfriend is going "STOP STOP STOP STOP OH GOD STOP"

Clutch hates supercharger. Supercharger hates clutch. I give clutch 2-3 months tops. It refuses to bite if I'm even a little too anxious with it.

I am having so much goddamned fun and it's not even fully tuned yet.

Hey fellas, I just picked up my Z from the body shop, as always, my installer did amazing work.. Im pretty happy, and now Im not embarrassed to drive my Z anymore.
