I like how it's deep and rumbly down low but has a real quality tone mid-range to redline. It's multidimensional... very tuned sound whereas my FI was more of a bassy, louder than stock type sound from idle to redline. The Ark has that high pitch wail which is sweet.

It just makes you wanna roll down the windows, hit the gas even when your stuck in traffic just to hear it grumble.. haha

It blows my old FI setup out of the water.

I think the tone of the Ark V2 is better. Has a smoother warble and high RPM sound than the FI... more mechanical sounding at higher revs, which is what I always look for in an exhaust.

I'll take a little credit for immediately sending you a message about that used Ark now ;)

Yes... we both have been instrumental in the recent modification of each other's vehicles.

All you need is an axle back, Tony. I'll install it for you, too.

Yeah, no crazy modifications for me.

Really? That would be awesome! I will see you tomorrow and discuss it.

m4a1mustang 08-16-2013 09:08 AM

Yeah I've done a few. Pretty simple job. I can teach you how to DIY. :p

m4a1mustang 08-16-2013 09:09 AM

If you want something that gives you more volume/tone than stock but won't get you in trouble with the law, look no further than GT500 mufflers:

Ford Racing Mustang GT500 Style Axle-Back (2011-2014 GT) M-5230-MGTCA1

:icon17: I actually looked at those on that site. They sound good.

m4a1mustang 08-16-2013 09:13 AM

Yep. They are good DD mufflers. Not too loud but definitely aggressive when you want.

Some people want loud all the time, though.

I shall help with this DIY. Or steal it. Either way, it's gonna happen.

I heard the Roush A/B last weekend on a 2014 GT. Sounds very similar to the FRPP Sport A/B setup I have, just a hair louder with no drone.

m4a1mustang 08-16-2013 09:21 AM

What kept me away from the Roush was the high RPM rasp. And I heard reports of low RPM drone.

The nice thing about the GT500 is that it's half the price of the other ones. $300 vs. $600.

It's a constant internal struggle of good vs. evil.
