Their software on the other hand is a load of horse manure to be polite. Nothing is intuitive in this realm. |

Only reason I like OSX is that its shiny and the UI has a lot of neat graphics. That's pretty much it. I like the chassis that Apple comes out with. MBP MBA and iMac's all look stunning and sleek. I just don't like how they are doing so much integrated crap. From a business and revenue standpoint I get it but it just makes life a little difficult. |
My only mac is a 15" MacBook Pro (and if you count my work laptop a 15" MacBook Pro, so two Macs). I love it - it works great with my DJing equipment, has run almost flawlessly over the past 3ish years, is EXTREMELY sturdy (and will probably continue to last because of this) and does exactly what I need it to do. Was it overpriced? Absolutely, but compared to the other **** on the market when it comes to laptops, I could care less. The only laptop comparable in my experience was an enterprise edition laptop, the HP Elitebook which, when all is said and done, will cost the same as my Pro.
There is something to be said about Apple's ridiculously greedy marketing and manufacturing schemes, but that is also the reason why as of Aug. 2012 they had $112 billion in the bank. This doesn't mean I agree with it though... You will probably begin to see some of this change with the passing of jobs...but somehow Apple has the ability to tell people what they will want in the future. As long as they keep this up, they will continue to make BANK. I am by no means an Apple fanboy - I have an android phone (have always had androids since the very first android, the G1 - in fact you could probably call me a Google fanboy), an Apply tablet, a Windows PC, and I have switched between Intel and AMD, NVIDIA and ATI my whole life. Moral of the story is, get what fits you and does what you need it to do at your price point. |
Oh and as far as software is concerned, I'm more of an open source, I don't need you to hold my hand, kinda guy. I don't mind OSX on my laptop, but my tablet is jailbroken FORSURE.
|
Yeah I flipped back and forth between iphones and androids.
On the two iphones I had, AWAYS JAILBROKEN - this goes for the two ipads I own as well. Honestly, I prefer the ipad to the android tabs. Phone wise, rocking the GS4 now, rooted with pure android rom - oh god so fast and it blows the doors off the iphone 5 lol. |

Thats just downright stinkin cool man! That is a really sweet picture! I'm no expert and asked a coworker what he thought. He first thought a ford model A Rumble seat Coupe 1931 Ford Model A Rumble Seat Coupe - YouTube
But now he's leaning towards Chevy 1931 Chevrolet Sports Coupe w/Rumble Seat photo, picture, image on Use.com I think the chevy looks the closest so far. Any idea where the picture was taken? |
it may be this one... but i'm having trouble really identifying it..

i think that photo is somewhere near the main line outside Philly..
not even sure the year.. 1920's? |

Grandma looks a bit frisky there Randy :icon17: |
the Ford has the spare on the drivers side.. and the chevy doesn't seem to have one at all..
in the one i posted, the spare sits lower and the front bumper is less round on the profile. surprisingly tough.. |

The wireframe wheels make me think it's later than 1927.

Do you know where the photo was taken?

Some notes: 1. Notice the top frame. The older (pre-1930ish) top frames sometimes have that second bar coming off the main one which runs up from the door. Also notice that the canvas wraps back along the frame all the way to the door. 2. Wire frame wheels with very small drum brakes. Often times the drums are much bigger. 3. Rumble seat flips up at the back only. There is no front opening like on some. 4. Is that a manufactuer logo on the spare tire mount? Can't tell. 5. Chrome hinge on the hood. Many cars don't have that chrome accent. I don't think it's a Ford Model A (pretty sure its not) and I don't think it's a Chevy roadster either. I think it might be something a little more unique, and probably pre 1930 or very early 1930s. |
mmmm CSI: Mazoc edition.
