It's also good just to read. There is a ton of information out there. The hard part is separating the filth from the good stuff. Usually it's pretty easy to determine who knows what they are doing and who doesn't, though.

I've found if you do turn to someone for guidance, you can't be hard-headed or stubborn.

There is a TON of info out there. Some of it is a little or a lot off from the accurate truth but its all useful in someway.

I mean I bought the Z and was like "I AINT TOUCHIN IT".

My favorite car was actually my 99 civic ex, first manual, first bone stock car. Was my HS graduation gift. Went from SOHC + GReddy turbo kit, then swapped to b16 motor, turbo'd that, blew that motor. Rebuilt with a fully built b18 block and built b16 head, up the boost. Never got it dyno'd but it was estimated about 320-340whp.. that was one fun car to drive. ran 13.0 @ 116 lol no traction at all

ZCarMan 06-13-2013 08:42 AM

When I was in Seattle just these past few days I saw tons of Hondas. They have their annual Honda Tech blow out each year there which brings in buku Hondas. Then again, its Seattle where there is a HUGE Asian tuner community. While headed to Starbucks for coffee day before yesterday I got passed by an guy in a gunmetal Audi R8 and while parking in our hotel lot, I commented on this guy who had a car with "3.0 VTEK" on the side and back of his car. Pat said, "If you liked that, look at the Maserati next to it". Low and behold a Maserati was parked next to it. Weird.

I'm a Honda guy at heart, it's what I started out with and really up until my Subaru which I've only had for a 1 year, it was all Hondas before.

However that scene just carries a nasty stigma/stereotype with it, which was the poopy part about it

Yeah I can't get over the stigma that comes with the Honda community. The S2K was OK but it was not immune to the riffraff.

The 370Z community is definitely more mature (for the most part,) which is nice.

Good thing MAZOC is not afraid to kick out those few. :roflpuke2:

Sales@AAMComp 06-13-2013 08:53 AM

haha who can boost their Integra at 195k, bone stock motor to 280whp and be completely ok and reliable. I had no issues with my Integra.. sold it at 230k still running strong because of my job change (the job before I began at AAM), the guy I sold it to now actually street races the car, same exact set up and it's STILL going strong lol

I have a soft spot for Honda for sure. Still wish those bastards would have put a K20 in the CRZ. I'd have one as a DD. :bowrofl:

This is my Son's Honda that he has modded a bit. he lowered it and bought new wheels and tires for it. Those were his first mods ever. He is now learning about what happens if you lower it too much! :bowrofl:

The fact that you could afford a Z right outside of high school is pretty impressive in its self.

Got lucky. Was working my last year of HS on coop. Employer really liked my skills so they hired me on right away.lol I mean I put my time in in school work and stuff but the opportunity was rare, so I consider it half luck.

Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity!

If I get rich and have space for them I'd definitely have a few Hondas in my collection. They'd look funny sitting next to the Ferraris but IDGAF.

My family, you get an A, you don't get the belt. Now there was some old school motivation.

eastwest2300 06-13-2013 09:35 AM

Grandma used the switch... ouch.

b1adesofcha0s 06-13-2013 09:41 AM

I used to get a bit of money for getting straight A's, which I did all throughout high school. I think my parents gsve me like $200 when I graduated from high school. When I asked for a car, they said that they would buy me one when I graduated from college. By the time that happened, I already had my Z so they just bought dinner for me and a couple of my friends.

b1adesofcha0s 06-13-2013 09:43 AM

That report card money and my $10/week allowance was used to purchase probably like 70-80% of my current video game collection :icon17:
