Nice phone, hopefully you won't have any issues.

Who has the best coverage depends on where you need the coverage.

I carry 2-3 phones on different carriers with me at all times and there's nothing close to a definitive "best coverage carrier"

Tmobile is still spotty but has come a long way.

I was going to switch to AT&T because I think they have better local coverage than VZ, but Dana gets a 15% discount from work on VZ plans so we stuck with it. Got the LG G2.

I agree with you 100%, i know when i was in this other agency I use to work for, as soon as I walked in the building my phone dropped service (tmobile), when I switched to verizon I NEVER had an issue, and that was with me going 10 levels down into a parking garage and throughout the building.

I was also told that verizon had more "repeaters" throughout the city... so that could be reason why.

Yeah, building coverage comes down to density, something Tmobile is far behind on (and VZW is generally slightly behind ATT on in most cities). VZW likes to tout their better (geographic) coverage, but ATT generally has better usable coverage in populated areas.

VZW has killer acquisition times though. When I land after a flight, my VZW phone is running on power on. ATT and TM take a while to figure out where I am.

Im actually gonna be looking at one of these unlimited everything smaller carriers, especially if I can cut my phone bill in half, but before I do it, Im gonna do a ton of homework on it.. I mean I love verizon, I just hate paying $84 a month when all I do is text.

I have a cell phone tower right near my house, and my signal has only improved at work. T-Mobile also is better in my home town in NY, than Verizon is.

Long and short, I did nothing but improve.

Btw, T-Mobile's connection is freaking fast as hell, compared to Verizon's.

My cousin used to have one of those smaller carriers and hated the coverage. The only place he had better coverage than my phone with Verizon was way out in Deep Creek, MD. I'll be waiting for the S5 in April so I can upgrade my phone.

My dad has Virgin mobile. His reception absolutely blows, almost anywhere he's gone.

It might be worth your while to check into ATT. This year they rolled out this new program called "AT&T Next". With some of the value plans you can get data, unlimited talk and text for as little as $45.00 a month with no annual contract. I don't have it, but received a letter about it. I also know another guy at work who switched to the ATT Go Phone smart phone, I think, with no data but he has a verizon hot spot that he uses with it for that. Costs him about $25.00 for the phone. As you are looking to lower costs, these might be an option to look at.

ahhh Jon, you're the man, thank you so much.

I wanted to post MAZOCian thanks to Takjak2 for his help. We installed a front sway bar and an uol cooler in my Z. I say "we", but the only thing I did (and this is the truth) was screw down ONE FITTING. I did, however, complete this part if the installation with an adroitness and precision seldom seen in mortals. It was really something to behold. For once my ability to screw quickly was greeted with something other than disappointment and ridicule.

Anyway, thanks again, and here's to putting the days of cooking oil behind me (well apart from my fry daddy).

eastwest2300 01-12-2014 02:09 PM

awesome stuff man, so you did the oil cooler yourself, you were talking about taking it a mechanic.

One of our MAZOC members did 99.99%, but it was the easy part. I had the toughest part.
