So I sprung for a quaife LSD + seals and bearings. Some random on facebook said I should "Swap pumpkins" with a guy who has an AT VLSD "for the more favorable final drive gear ratio (3.3:1)"

Anything to this? Does the AT have a final drive gear with a better ratio or something? This doesn't make much sense to me.

Taller rear gear. Some FI people would want it, many wouldn't.

I think there may be some differences between the diffs but can't recall.

I'm assuming I'll be happy with the improvement the quaife will give. Not super interested in trying to mix and match more parts unless there's a clear gain.

It changes the final drive. Good option if your gearing feels too short. Bad option if your gearing feels right or too long.

I'm not going to **** with it. At any rate, diff purchased along with new bearings and seals just for the hell of it unless you don't think I need them.

Can't put the order in with Nissan/Quaife until Monday so I could always cancel the bearings & seals.

Today marks the 72nd anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. If you have never had the opportunity to travel to Pearl Harbor and visit the USS Arizona memorial, which remains the final resting place for many of its crew, it is a special place. The following video is shown to all visitors who take the boat out to the Arizona.

Actual start of documentary is at 2:43
