Picking up the Legacy GT this week. Should be motor swapped and ready to go by mid October. Fred beans Nissan/Subaru has the best pricing ever. Honestly I have never had a less than amazing encounter with Jomer here on the forum. Dude is always helpful and always has had the best pricing.

Found out something neat today after an hour long conversation with Frank Hill (Hill's Garage)'s wife.

If you are running Uprev software and if you take the car over 400whp, you absolutely must buy an upgraded MAF sensor ($350 shipped from Uprev) or the car will forever run lean.
Also, just lol at Hill's pricing. Holy christ are they expensive.

I asked out of curiosity and here's what they quoted me for a custom tune:
-$1050 for tune (5 maps)
-$60 shop processing fee which you can cut in half by paying cash/check

No you don't. Larger intake piping will resolve that. Bump from 2.5 to 2.75 or even 3" will make stock sensors good for 600+ whp. Hell I'm getting 450whp ish on stock 2.5"

Hill's disagrees with you and says that going to 3" piping won't do anything other than make the car louder (which isn't a bad thing mind you).

I asked that very question. Hill's has been doing this for a looooong time.
It may be a peculiarity with the Uprev SW specifically. I don't know but they said that in almost all cases where people are running Uprev and are having issues making boost, the problem is that sensor.

Edit: By the way, your buddy James at RT Tuning agrees with me - well, with Hill's anyway.

hmm well im not sure how all of the turbo guys are running 500+ without error. I have no issue making boost? I know John said I was close to maxing mine with my current 2.5" so if I upgrade to 2.75" and the readouts are better its obvious that it does infact effect it. Which I have read that it does. That is why gtm ran 3" piping on their 1000hp car.

I thought AAM did the 3" version for their turbo builds but I don't see that on their website anymore. I'm only seeing the 2.5". I'm not saying this for one side or the other just adding information to the conversation.

Im not sure what they used. Their TT kit is still in development as far as I know. But look at GTMs MHI kit. The kit makes 500+ no maf upgrade and the intake piping is massive compared to stock. Wonder why that is :p

Like I said I am around 420-460whp now with my boost leak fixed and have zero problems. I do need a new AFR sensor though. It every once in a while it bugs out and decides to pull rich numbers. Cleaning it the other week helped a lot as it was staying rich no matter what. so maybe I just didn't clean it good enough...not sure.

http://www.the370z.com/forced-induct...ock-maf-2.html

It's unique to supercharger applications apparently. Check it out.
