If It was free, I wouldn't do it myself either.

eastwest2300 05-15-2013 10:53 AM

time is money

Red__Zed 05-15-2013 10:58 AM

especially when you're raking it in like blades

b1adesofcha0s 05-15-2013 10:59 AM

Well that issue would depend on which dealership you get it done from. If you go to a crappy one then they will probsbly put crappy Oil in it. If it's a decent dealership then they will put at least the Nissan ester oil which is the factory recommended one of the Z. I don't see a problem with that.

eastwest2300 05-15-2013 10:59 AM

Blades is Daddy Warbucks

If they "had" to work on my car, I want eyes on it during the entire process.

The dealerships I've been to had a window in the service waiting area so you can watch them work on your car.

eastwest2300 05-15-2013 11:20 AM

Thats a good thing..

4r3s 05-15-2013 02:17 PM

Wow I can actually keep up with a conversation on here this week, sweet!

Pretty sure if the oil change was free for me as well I wouldn't be doing it myself either.

eastwest2300 05-15-2013 02:54 PM

you fellas act like its a lot of work.. lol

b1adesofcha0s 05-15-2013 04:46 PM

Well it was more about saving money than the difficulty. Though it is more of a hassle if you have to use someone else's garage to do the work every time.

eastwest2300 05-15-2013 05:10 PM

You need to pick up some jack stands and a hydraulic jack, then you're all set. This way you can learn all about your Z, hands on.

b1adesofcha0s 05-15-2013 05:17 PM

I'd rather not work on my car in the street....

That's a good point. But I don't look at the potential disaster, I look at getting the job done.

They only put the Ester in if you specifically tell them you want it and they will of course charge you extra for it. I usually take the ester oil in and give it to them so I don't have to worry about them not having any in stock. I made the mistake of not doing that once and they put some different Penzoil in it. I made them drain it all out and put in the Ester.

eastwest2300 05-15-2013 06:48 PM

Penzoil??? wtf..

That's a nice way to get yourself hurt/killed. If I need something done, I will try and use someone else's garage.

Planning to buy a house with a garage early next year, so it shouldn't be a problem then.

Something wrong with Pennzoil? I use their Ultra Synthetic. It's the same oil that comes with your new Ferrari.
