I'm not messing with this car I swear.

Congrats on the GTR DM, was wondering when you were going to pull the trigger. Quick advice; upgrade injectors too if you're going to do all of the above otherwise you're literally leaving like 50-60whp on the table by keeping the stock injectors

I was just talking to a coworker that lives out west (also owns a 35) about this today and he said the same thing. He's actually in the process of upgrading to 1300s but I think I'll probably be fine using ID1000s again. Just another required money sink to throw on the pile. The dude at GT-RR/Bulletproof is hard-selling me on a Powerhouse Amuse exhaust but I don't think I want to plunk down 10k+ for a freaking exhaust despite how awesome it looks and sounds.

So far, I haven't done much to it. Paint sealed and polished. Tint is done and clearbra (suntek premium) on the front end. Stillen front skid plate and Top Secret hood damper kit going on this week. Vanity tags just arrived yesterday. I was going to powder coat the wheels but they sparkle on their own. I may end up leaving them alone.

Nice! Yeah 1000s are more than enough on 93 octane

JDM yo. The Powerhouse Amuse exhaust the Bulletproof guys are hard-selling me on costs 12k (I will not be buying that exhaust).

Only two hood strut options for the 35 are Rexspeed which apparently suck, fail and don't support the weight of the hood according to the folks at NAGTROC/GTRLIFE - or Top Secret which cost a bit too much. I went with the product that actually does what it's supposed to. I don't think I ever mentioned the price did I?

Why this car doesn't come with factory hood struts, we will never know. They were a necessity though. I was at a show in Clarksburg and a gust of wind knocked the hood prop out while I had my freaking head under the hood and I nearly got decapitated.

MightyBobo 07-29-2016 10:40 PM

That was what I was asking: how the **** didn't it already come with them?

I may have to hit you up on that. Don't yet know what I want, but I definitely want another bike.

Duly noted. Expect a message as soon as I have a bike.

Oh, I still have those gloves for Kim. I'll try to remember to bring them to the picnic.

Is it time to "Pass the Torch" or "create a new Z site" for MD, VA, etc members.
It's a "Z" site correct? But it's kind of lame if most members don't own Z's anymore .. I don't want to offend anyone, but I thought it was a Z site .... I can't see how bikes, etc fit in.
It's cool to move on to new toys, but some are die hard Z owners. If we can't get back to that, then it's time for a split from MAZOC.
Wish you well with your new toys, but I'm staying with Z.

The 370 has been out for 8 years now. I'm sorry but we aren't just going to stop being friends because we don't drive an 8 year old model car anymore. From the beginning we decided this group was about the people first. That ain't changing.

Well I concur with your original beginnings thoughts. Which is people first, correct?
Many move on to new toys , but if the conception of a site is based upon a model then be true to that,!
Move on to a "social group", but there are those die hard Z lovers that want to stay "pure" to Z... I ask then what does MAZOC stand for if majority of its members are no longer Z owners? (BMW Motorcycles, GTRs, corvettes, really?) It's a bogus Z club if members don't own Z's! (Pass the torch)

I don't want to be friends with Steve anymore because he stopped putting out.

m4a1mustang 08-17-2016 06:28 PM

Just look at our join dates. We have survived this long because we are a social group first and a Z club second. If that's not for you, then there are other alternatives. I don't know what else to say.

In fact, I am a little offended. Many of us in this group have been vacationing together at the same place for years now because of the bonds we built in the early days when we did own Zs. To suggest we need to "pass the torch" because we don't own a 370 anymore is ludicrous. We remain friends regardless of what changes in our lives and that says a lot about the club and it's members.

Cristobal09 08-17-2016 06:40 PM

I havent owned a Z in two years and still talk to some of these guys.

I do miss the Fairfax meets though.
