Nice. Did you smell the burning? And realize it was your eyeballs?

It was shielded by cooling and numbing paste. I let the guy do it. I was either that or risk going blind.

Hard to navigate roads when blind. I could gas, clutch, shift, and brake just fine, but steering a proper path would be a challenge.

I just seen it before in Waldorf when I went to the offensive fitment show. Usually integra's don't catch my eye anymore but I thought the car was done pretty well.

dmhenderson 09-22-2014 04:51 PM

Couple shots someone else took of my car yesterday. I only had my crappy camera phone:

Story time?

I thought you got laser eye surgery. I had it done years ago.

What I had done is known as Laser iridotomy (iris hole)

Laser iridotomy (iris hole)

Ima geezer. Getting cataracts and they can cause problems with pressure inside your eye. If your eyes do not drain properly around the edge of the iris it can cause pressure buildup in your eye. This can occur when cataracts form, thickening the lens, pushing the iris out a little and constricting the drain around the edge of the iris. By creating a small hole in the iris, flow is restored and pressure normalizes. This is a type of glaucoma known as Acute Angle-Closure Glaucoma I believe. So there it is. My eyes are fine. I am going to get my lenses replaced sometime next year to take care of the cataracts so my vision will be significantly improved then. No more glasses... except for cool retro aviator sunglasses cuz that's how I role eh?

:happydance:

Does that qualify as "story?"

eastwest2300 09-27-2014 08:13 AM

ahhh dude, chilling bro.. I did front camber arms on the Z last weekend, that was a pain.. lol.. other than that, life is good bro.. I hope you're doing good man.

jpkirk 09-27-2014 04:42 PM

Yeah I got them... well the thing that sucks is the screws that hold the factory camber arms in are super long, they gotta be at least 3 inches plus and with me I have swift springs so you couldn't get the screws out unless you dropped the shock.. ughhhh it just sucked..

That'll be the first and last time I do that...:icon17:

dmhenderson 09-29-2014 09:11 AM

Holy **** so I go to pick up my rental car while the Z is in the body shop and they typically try to give you something comparable in size to what you drive.

Yeah ok, they gave me an extended cab Chevy Silverado. This thing is a freaking battleship. It doesn't really even fit in a single parking space.

That's funny. Aye Captain, full speed ahead, hard a starboard. Sound the klaxon, brace for collision.... no ... no ... RAMMNG SPEED!!

dmhenderson 09-29-2014 11:26 AM

Just noticed a flex fuel badge on the window and sure enough, yellow gas cap. Didn't realize E85 was a thing for behemoth trucks

Anybody going to Cruise week next week in ocean city? It's 9-12th supposed to be about as good as H2Oi but it's actually sanctioned.

dmhenderson 09-30-2014 11:41 AM

Not going anywhere near OC in the offseason - plus I don't want to do any highway driving with virgin paint if I can help it for a while.

Asheth 09-30-2014 11:50 AM

Is cruise week better than h2Oi? Never been to cruise week either.

I daily drive one. It's fit into almost anything I can throw it at...it's just LONG. (that's what she said)

Park better :-p

dmhenderson 09-30-2014 12:09 PM

I thought the corvette/muscle car show was the week after H2O but it has been a long time since I've been down there.

MightyBobo 09-30-2014 05:54 PM

Mikes work, for me:

I made the bases and plaques of course, and assembled them.

No but I was considering the g cruise on the 12th. I can still be home in time to watch the late games. Not sure if anybody else was going. I enjoy driving back roads and it seems mazoc doesn't do alot of driving events.

Is that something that could be changed?

Asheth 10-01-2014 08:56 AM

I plan to still attend the NGC cruise myself.

OC Rallies

Reference some recent posts on this subject, go to <mdcoastdispatch dot com> and search for "hectic car rally weekend" The article is about H2Oi last weekend.

Here's an excerpt.

"Last Thursday the OCPD posted on Facebook reminding citizens the department has a zero tolerance policy regarding traffic violations and the police will be addressing vehicle equipment and modification violations made that would fail the vehicle during Maryland inspection, and the vehicle would be impounded."

The rest of the article is worth a read. I've been thinking about going down Oct 9-12 for Endless Summer Cruisin' 2014, but now I'm not so sure.

We used to do a lot of driving events like 2-3 years ago, but the people who used to lead them have been busy lately. If someone wants to volunteer to lead one, we can definitely get some going.

Since no one spoke of meeting last Saturday in Fairfax, I decided to drive the back roads of middle Calvert County on a Saturday morning. Channyville Rd. near Patuxent River, Huntingtown Rd., Sixes Rd., Greys Rd. and a few others. It was fun but a few more cars and a stop for brunch would have made it even better.
