NO SHIT!! I saw the price of that thing, I was thinking maybe $700-800, but almost $1k for a cable?!!? And a cheap tune... come on man, you're even admitting the publicity stunt you pulled is not true?!

:shakes head:

Good on ya for RT.

Not entirely. What I was saying and going on about was information legitimately given to me. But looks like that was false. Straight up they told me $600 for NA until I did my project and then retune on a local dyno for free...well paying the local dyno of course.lol

They also did have really good gains over uprev on the one car I saw. About +10whp over all but that was just ecutek vs uprev ignition timing. I would go with Visconti knowing how well they do in the GTR market but they need to remember...we don't drive gtr's. A $1000 tune is exceptable on a $100k car...not a $30k car.

RT all day. Vince tunes with Ecutek and uprev day in and day out constantly. Following their facebook and instagram will prove that. But with him knowing both softwares inside and out and having constant use of them makes me really comfortable going to them. The plan was to go to them anyways but then Visconti showed up with a good offer, that was taken away so now its back to RT who I never should've left out on my project. Ive learned my lesson. Im pretty shop loyal now. They hook me up on price matching parts like no other.

Also Vince has tuned Mr. Squeeze's car. just something to keep in mind :tiphat:

Oh I watch RT's FB a lot, which is why I feel good with them.

The ECUTek thread just said they didn't see any gains from VVEL with N/A. Which was one of their primary fluff points over UpRev is that they could change that. :ugh2:

Maybe there's a reason UpRev doesn't do it, is that it doesn't give you gains... :ugh2:

Yeah but they have also said they haven't toyed with it much. Not sure how much room there is to really play around with it. I really wish I had the extra 2k because I would just buy a vq37 off ebay and tell a shop to test it out. I wish a shop would just go and do that...or hell atleast uprev.

VVEL isn't a huge concern for me as my build plans have changed and I don't want much more than 500whp. Every penny spent from here on our will be for making it reliable and a track beast that can handle the power.

:iagree: Same here. I don't want ungodly power as with the AT I'll never see it all on the road. What I want is the power to fully enjoy the car FI. 500 is a good even number, so I'm right there with you.

500 isn't too hard to achieve. What makes it hard is the larger AT vs MT. If anyone every wanted us to do a build on an AT I would tell them to just buy the kit and we will install. We do have plans to turn my build into a kit and also a low mount TT setup. We also have a new system in the works that doesn't require oil catch cans...so stay posted. Pat also Cadded the intake manifold into Solidworks the other day...We believe it should be MUCH less expensive to custom a new IM than that crazy gtr retrofit.

Really we have a whole bunch of ideas...just limited by funding and time at this point. Also making sure there is an interest for our stuff is the other hard part.lol

I'm keeping an eye on what all you're doing, as I do with all home builds. I hope it's a success. I know the AT is horrible for more power, but since my car was a DD I couldn't take a clutch in Phoenix traffic :ugh2:

Yep, feel the same way.

dmhenderson 06-12-2013 07:51 PM

I would imagine that a ~500hp FI build is going to feel a little loose/dangerous off the line as it is, plus the stock block won't really handle much more than that anyway.

shadoquad 06-12-2013 07:55 PM

You guys are talking about reliable 500rwhp from a vq37vvel... Has it been done? I admit ignorance, I haven't followed the FI section in forever.

Yeah a ton of guys have 20k+ boosted.

basically ill be beefing up my transmission goodies and doing a modest engine rebuild. about $1500 for transmission stuffs and another $2000 for internals and I have a local shop that can do the install. They did my friends 1800whp viper build :P And they are rebuilding for 2000ish.lol

MyKindaGuise 06-12-2013 07:58 PM

Drift guys are the coolest guys.
Some big names in this video though. Only way I can see this being allowed at the track haha

HP #'s directly relate to the outer diameter of one's ballz.

So it are important to have big ballz.
