That we did!:p
I have a former boss who is a huge Buckeye fan, so to see them lose to Clemson, was icing on the cake. |

Wife and I said piss off to Verizon (mine) and AT&T (hers), tonight. Thanks for the fish, ********.
Also, this Nexus 5 is the ****. |
Your coverage might take a hit, I had Tmobile, and a buddy of mine worked at AT&T, Verizon, & Tmobile, and after the coverage issues I was having, I asked him out of all the carriers, which one had the BEST coverage, he said Verizon. When he told me that, I switched immediately.
Nice phone, hopefully you won't have any issues. |

I carry 2-3 phones on different carriers with me at all times and there's nothing close to a definitive "best coverage carrier" Tmobile is still spotty but has come a long way. |
I was going to switch to AT&T because I think they have better local coverage than VZ, but Dana gets a 15% discount from work on VZ plans so we stuck with it. Got the LG G2.

I was also told that verizon had more "repeaters" throughout the city... so that could be reason why.

VZW has killer acquisition times though. When I land after a flight, my VZW phone is running on power on. ATT and TM take a while to figure out where I am. |
Im actually gonna be looking at one of these unlimited everything smaller carriers, especially if I can cut my phone bill in half, but before I do it, Im gonna do a ton of homework on it.. I mean I love verizon, I just hate paying $84 a month when all I do is text.

Long and short, I did nothing but improve. Btw, T-Mobile's connection is freaking fast as hell, compared to Verizon's. |
My cousin used to have one of those smaller carriers and hated the coverage. The only place he had better coverage than my phone with Verizon was way out in Deep Creek, MD. I'll be waiting for the S5 in April so I can upgrade my phone.

ahhh Jon, you're the man, thank you so much.

I wanted to post MAZOCian thanks to Takjak2 for his help. We installed a front sway bar and an uol cooler in my Z. I say "we", but the only thing I did (and this is the truth) was screw down ONE FITTING. I did, however, complete this part if the installation with an adroitness and precision seldom seen in mortals. It was really something to behold. For once my ability to screw quickly was greeted with something other than disappointment and ridicule.
Anyway, thanks again, and here's to putting the days of cooking oil behind me (well apart from my fry daddy). |
awesome stuff man, so you did the oil cooler yourself, you were talking about taking it a mechanic.

Yeah, i did my homework, after having mine installed, luckily I don't drive my Z all that often.

The Stillen swaybar also made a noticeable difference. I'm thinking maybe just do HFCs and call it done for a while (I might be kidding myself). Sealed the paint today and topped off with some Collinite 845. |
so when the bumper is on, how are you putting on and taking off the block off plate?

Here's a Monday laugh for you:
Has anyone chipped their car? If so, mind giving me and reddit some feedback? : Autos Guy claims Gforce chip added 50whp in proven dyno gains to his "buddy's car" |
Quote:
the grand prix is a very different car than the Z keep in mind. The Z is a sports car and will not have this same issue. Now is the specific product gforce any good? I don't know. |
Doc, glad you are enjoying the swaybar :driving:
On the chip topic, see the gains on BMW inline 6s or the year to year increases for most other cars. We don't see gains on the Z because the VQ is already stretched to the limit. |

What oil cooler did you get? I have a 34 row from Z-1. I am interested in making a block plate. Did you take any pictures of yours? |

And FYI, H20 - I disagree with EW on the whole "when" put the plate on. If you arent on the track, you may as well cover it up almost completely at all times, with the exception of summer. Then you can probably rock 50% coverage or so. But winter, should be 100% coverage, period. |

As for how much to cover and when to uncover, you may well be correct. |

The oil overheating issues are almost exclusively located on the track, and at times when you plan to rev north of 4-5K for an extended period of time... |
Also, before I forget....yes, there ARE detrimental effects to running oil TOO cold. It is a thing.

Me personally, from what I've seen, If your oil temp is atleast 170 degrees, you're good. Even with the block off plate on or off, and driving on the highway at 55 degrees or more (outside temperature). You should be anywhere from 170 to 180 degrees, all day. Right now, Bobo, you're right, the block off plate should be on. But my general rule of thumb is to watch your oil temp when your block off plate is off. |

In my experience, you only need to take the plate off when you're gonna track it. I've had my cooler fully blocked off in the summer while spirited driving and my temps were ok. At most I would do 50% in the summer and 100% covered the redt of the year.
