A packed field is fun. I just wish we were closer on time so we could have had a huge group running together. 2-3 wide and passing every lap would have been a blast (if we could keep from wrecking.)

Not with them black flagging every other car..

Also, I dunno if it was with Bobo, steve, or someone else, but about Replacement/Tinted Lenses for the helmets being expensive, this is what I meant:

Accessories | HJC MOTORSPORTS $70 for the smoked one for my helmet

Sucky - I'm finding them all day long for mine, for $30-40.

This is why I keep you guys around. What would I do without you? :p

I've seen stuff on the HPDE, but not AutoX. Tell me more...

AutoX is the best place to learn your limits safely. It requires a LOT of very quick hand movement, and handling the car in extreme situations. Excellent for learning what your car can do in evasive maneuvers, along with what will happen if you are too extreme with your inputs (be it braking, steering, or acceleration).

That sounds like just what I need.

I guess something about the helmet... :ugh2:

AutoX is a good learning tool, but I hated that you had to wait there all freaking day for like 4 mins total of driving time spread throughout the day. Once I had my first track experience, I stopped caring about AutoX :p

shadoquad 04-29-2013 11:03 PM

I didn't learn to drive from AutoX or HPDE, and at my first HPDE, I was quite fast.

I learned an awful lot from video games and hooligan friends and having been taught well from the beginning. Not saying that I advise hooliganism.

Also, its relatively cheap. $50 for a day, usually.

Probably because it's a racing helmet, and not a motorcycle helmet.
