Unless I can get out of work early to detail the car today, I'm going to spend tomorrow doing that + figuring out the kick plate situation.

GM_Traitor3.5 03-01-2013 08:58 AM

I'll be at the meet after Katie's C&C...

dmhenderson 03-01-2013 09:01 AM

I'll be there next weekend for sure.

dmhenderson 03-01-2013 09:04 AM

Any idea how tough it is to remove that coolant tank from the car? Assuming I can just remove the engine hose and clamp it off. How is it held in place?

eastwest2300 03-01-2013 09:15 AM

I just bought my weathertechs....

Dude, just take it to a mechanic.

dmhenderson 03-01-2013 09:17 AM

Just trying to figure out how to paint it. It can't be that hard can it?

I think it's 2 10mm bolts, just make sure you don't make a huge mess unplugging the hose haha, it will drip

dmhenderson 03-01-2013 09:32 AM

One last question before I pull the trigger - this is the go-pro I want right:

GoPro HERO3 HD Camcorder Black 130-01534-000 - Best Buy

There are uh...lots of pretty negative reviews. Anyone have personal experience with this camera?

m4a1mustang 03-01-2013 09:34 AM

yes. check with Bobo for reviews.

DM, I believe in you, you can do it!!

That's the beauty of plasti dip, at least you can just peel it off if you completely screw it up, then again I don't know how you could unless you don't know how to aim a spray can lol

b1adesofcha0s 03-01-2013 09:49 AM

Make sure you get at least 3-4 coats of it on there, otherwise it will be really thin and hard to peel off. Also a heads up, plasti dip feels super cheap and crappy to the touch. That's why I took it off my door handles.

dmhenderson 03-01-2013 09:50 AM

It'll be in the engine bay so I don't care all that much. I'm just doing the coolant tank and the dipstick.

m4a1mustang 03-01-2013 09:52 AM

This was my engine bay. I believe in KISS.

If I didn't have so many little issues with my Z I'd still have it and an extra 50k or so laying around. I should sue Nissan. :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

b1adesofcha0s 03-01-2013 10:06 AM

If your Z wasn't red you'd still have it.....

There were some lingering first model year issues (throttle lag, ECU whine, etc) and I just ended up not caring for the chassis that much.

I will say after the 5.0 and S2000 I do appreciate it a little more (since it's a blend of both), I just wish it was better executed.

dmhenderson 03-01-2013 10:32 AM

Most of the problems I've had with both of my Z's have been at least partially my fault.

On Bobo's recommendation, I picked up the Silver version which doesn't seem to be plagued by the problems reported on the Black.

The S2000 is a special car, for sure.

m4a1mustang 03-01-2013 11:24 AM

I have been getting really frustrated with it lately, but I think it's due to the fact that I have no f*cking doors and everything is all over the place.

The door cards are on their way to me. If I'm lucky I'll get them next Friday/Saturday. Just in time for my date with Ron.
