I emailed my gun shop and they replied, barrett banned. I emailed again asking for confirmation that even a bolt action is banned, the ban list strictly says semi-auto banned. Any ideas?

Barrett 50 is banned in certain states due to shear caliber/round size. So while the 50 might be a bolt action, it may very well still be banned.
