May I ask why you need a physical safety? The Glocks are very safe with a round chambered so long as they are kept in a holster covering the trigger guard. They cannot fire unless you willingly pull the trigger.

I carry my G26 and/or G19 and they are chambered 24/7.

If you absolutely MUST have a physical safety, take a look at the Ruger SR40C. I think the S&W M&P 40C also has a manual thumb safety.

I admit that I am a control freak and I just want that "extra" level of safety. No other reason.
I've been looking at the M&P, but wanted some other thoughts before I did anything; so thank you very much for the Ruger suggestion, that looks pretty nice.

Steve - thanks again for the suggestion of the Ruger SR40c. In fact, I pulled the trigger () and got one this morning.
Celebrate the Fourth of July, absolutely; but who needs fireworks!?!?!
