Yeah I just got a mosin about a month ago and so did a couple friends, its a cool gun to fire as long as you go through the correct safety checks before firing. But if shtf the mosin will be the last thing I grab

do you shoot the mil surplus ammo? i had thoughts of buying the can of mil surplus or just use something cleaner like tul which there is a lot of out there but not quite as cheap.

I shoot the surplus ammo. I got my surplus 7.62X39 for around 19 cents per round. The thing with surplus is that they are very dirty and corrosive. Not sure about the NATO rounds but the 7.62X39 and 54 surplus are.
Not like it matters in the AK's anyway. u can shoot those things with cement in the barrel. But I still clean my AK after shooting surplus ammo.
