If you do buy through BCM direct, though, they ship quickly and include a lot of swag. I am a sucker for hats and stickers.

Yeah I've ordered quite a bit of stuff from BCM in the past, and my current free float rail that arrived yesterday.
I'm only going with the 16" to avoid paying the ATF the extra $200 for the SBR also. Although I could consider a 14.5" and have it pinned, can I get any flash hider/compensator pinned?, and what's the cost? I already have a YHM Phantom Compensator, would that work if it can be pinned to a 14.5" barrel?? I've also looked at Rainer barrels, but they're out of stock right now, and Noveske is way out of my budget for building a budget carbine at this point. It's just a project to have a basic carbine, a nice to have rifle, just in case I ever need one (SHTF). I already have over $2000 in my 18" SPR, which would serve as a long distance rifle should I ever need it. So the carbine is for fun basic shooting, and emergancy CQB, although my 1st line of defense would be my Sig P226 or shotgun.. not a rifle LOL

I have a 16" BCM BFH that I love. It is cumbersome in confined spaces, though. Better than my shotgun, but I'd rather have my shotgun in a confined space than the rifle. Or even my G26 since I can move around.

The biggest argument against compensators on indoor guns is that the noise and blast can be very distracting. Generally speaking, that's less of an issue with the Battlecomps from BCE or the Knight's compensator (that one is a real budget-buster). By reputation, the YHM, PWS, and Surefire brakes are way at the other end of the spectrum. I've shot in the shoot house with a guy who had an SBR and Surefire brake...it was really impressive (and unpleasant). You'd be better off with an A2 birdcage, and you can indeed have that pinned to a 14.5 inch barrel, but any pinned muzzle device isn't going to come off again without destroying the device and the end of the barrel. |

LOL I put the stickers on my ammo boxes and wear the hats. At least they get some real world use.

A pistol is what you use to keep their heads down until you can get your rifle...

Ordered my 14.5" barrel
I'll find somewhere to get it pinned. Although Continental Arms wanted several hundred bucks for the job LOL

ADCO Firearms gets $30 for that job (not including cost of muzzle device)...Rainier Arms gets $40. I've had gunsmithing done both places, good experience, no problems.

I am probably going to be there on Friday. I don't really need anything though so I might not go.
