pretty sweet. they are fun to shoot.
i was surprised they had less kick than M16.

took me a while to realize the cartridge is smaller...lol

The DDM4V1 is a 5.56 M4 variant. Same cartridge as the M16, a little more recoil.

I've just never really cared for the Barrett .50 cal. I find it unpleasant to shoot. The recoil's no big deal, but the blast is very wearing. Fortunately, we get all the practice ammo surplus so shooting it is cheap.

I have a lot of time with the AK47 full auto. Again, we get a lot of surplus 7.62 so it's cheap to shoot, but I confess I'm not a huge fan. It's not an accurate weapon (in my hands)...almost worthless beyond 50 yards. On full auto, it has a lot of muzzle rise and becomes even less accurate. They are reliable though. We (Bomb Squad) shoot some of the crappiest ammo there is - most of it is rejected surplus import ammo or ammo that's been returned to the seller as defective. They in turn give it to us for destruction. We get a lot of Wolf and a huge amount of Pakistani POF. 7.62 by the carload. The Pakistani stuff shoots pretty well, but won't function in your typical AR10. That stuff is designed to fire from open-bolt machine guns and apparently the primers are too hard to be ignited reliably in a battle rifle. Although, I don't I've ever seen a misfire in the AK.

I love my Barrett .... nothing like hitting a target from so far you can't be seen... have to own one. I want the Barrett 6.4

I have always thought Ruger was a pretty good value. My GF carries an LC9 and that's a pretty nice compact single stack 9mm.

were you directing this question at me?

Thats from a gun shop.
You can probably get a used AK in a gun show for less than...maybe $500
anything more than $500 they're usually already decked out with all sorts of stuff.

Thanks for the useful info bro:tup:

Yeh, that's me. Barret targets are old M113 bodies downrange on the artillery rage at the local Army National Guard base . We shoot the rifles at junked aerial shells (fireworks) and expired dynamite. Bomb Squad training is a hoot.

I really love my Ruger SR9. The frame design is based from the 1911 and from that I can see why the 1911 is favored by most and stood the test of time. The 3dots line up almost perfectly right after each shot. At least in my hands this is. Ive shot more than 3,000 rounds in in a span of about 3months without cleaning it and it never gave me any issues. Not that I was testing it's durability I just kept on forgetting to clean it...lol

Oh and it is very comfortable.

There was one instance that my SR9 kept stove piping but it was because of how my sister shoots. I was told that her wrists are week and a lot of the force needed to push the slide back is dampened.
Other than that none of my friends had any issues with the gun.

I'm not sure if thats the same gun my friend was talking about but he showed me this new AR called M-6?...i think...
anyway, with that the barrel is interchangeable between 5.56 and 7.62 NATO. Much like how the M240's are. Just twist barrel off and put a different caliber barrel in it. I think the mag can feed 7.62 rounds also

Yeah it isnt that accurate with me either. I felt less of a muzzle rise on my AK though compared to the M16's. Or maybe its because of my foregrip.
I dunno. I would still preffer it over anything if SHTF
