Nighthawk is fantastic. Very well built and tight. I am personally not a Colt fan so there is some bias but not much. I won't say how I really feel about colt but I'll tell you this much... it aint good.

well - the feel of each was frankly pretty similar (in terms of the grip, and the weight and the balance)

but the trigger was different - which i think made me pull everything about 2 inches left with the Colt - and I also couldn't keep the pattern as tight.

with the Nighthawk, i cleared out each bull - right where i was aiming.

maybe i'll bring the targets to a meet soon for 'review' and criticism :)

I'll see what I can do. It will depend on how many people I can get there. However, as busy as they are, I am not expecting much of a discount. But I will not hesitate to ask.

You can always wait until our shooting event and support MAZOC and show up and shoot targets with us. You can bring her too. The event will be open to friends and family of MAZOC.

That's good, but isn't it a bit hasty to say an optic is good...until you fire with it? lol

There were plenty of reviews on amazon, that being the reason I bought it.

Cabella's has .22 LR 36 Grain TCS (Viper) 100 Rounds for $6.99 (one box per order). Even with the shipping ($5.95) to MD that comes to .12 cents per round.

Picked up this last week. I bought one back when I was a teenager in Alaska and always wanted another one. Finally decided to pull the trigger. I still need to pick up a foregrip but otherwise looking forward to taking this out and plinking with it.

Sweet "assault weapon" ('cause it has a 25 rd mag and pistol grip) :icon17:

Nice looking plinker.

I had to drive up to PA to get the two BX-25 mags because you can't purchase or manufacture them in MD. What a Communist state.

Yea, I will never live in Maryland and I will try not to provide any of my money to the state by shopping up there. Feel free to move to VA.

The way the political winds are blowing Northern VA will eventually wind up like Maryland in the future. Its a plague. I'm headed much further south when the opportunity presents itself. The funny thing is that Maryland is known as "The Free State". :bowrofl:

Owe Malley. Whats in YOUR wallet?

But to stay on topic, a 10/22 is a must for any person who enjoys shooting. Its not too expensive compared to an AR platform and you can hang all kinds of furniture on the rails which makes it a lot of fun. And lastly, when you can find it, ammo is not as expensive.

Me and you southbound mate :tiphat:

I hear you on Northern VA, I just don't think the rest of the states population would allow it.

Thanks. Ruger 10/22s are a lot of fun. You can practice and not have to break the bank.

eastwest2300 05-21-2013 08:23 PM

I havent even considered buying another weapon, but the one you have looks baller, I know you're gonna have fun with that.

Well, if you plan on purchasing anything, now is the time. Come 1 October, the new law comes into effect. It doesn't impact those who already own firearms that will be banned, but does ban them for anyone who doesn't already own them after 1 October. They will have to jump through all kinds of extra hoops (fingerprints for handguns, license, training, only ten round mags etc.) and will never be able to own an AR-15 in MD.

Z Stig 05-21-2013 09:49 PM

I agree. The 10-22 should be in every gun owners inventory. Or at least a .22 rifle. I have a 10-22 and a Smith and Wesson 15-22 (which is a .22 that looks just like an AR-15) and like shooting them both.

RandyD 05-23-2013 09:08 AM

going to the range in Chantilly this afternoon if anyone is up for it - see you there.

MightyBobo 05-23-2013 11:14 AM

I went to Freestate gun range yesterday with my fiancee. VERY nice range. Turns out, you can shoot 7.62x39 there, also.
