You are exactly right. And I got it from the same place they would have, had I not gotten it first. Woe is them.

:roflpuke2: they're mad because you took their profit, I dont know why they get mad, they still make money off the transfer and doing the actual paperwork. Its such a rip off.

For every shop trying to "fight the good fight" and protest these websites (that they use themselves), there's probably 50 others that give no f-cks and just do the FFL.

Honestly, I feel less sympathy now that I think about it, because these other places make cash off of selling other things, like a generic sportsman shop or whatever. Not just a 100% dedicated gun shop. Their income source is so specific, it's like opening a Brick and Mortar store selling only televisions and TV accessories, in a world where you can find great deals online if you have a good eye. So why should I feel bad for them?

Of course, the answer is that I don't.

Of course I didn't lol. BUT, she showed up just on time! I leave for Boston tomorrow morning, so if I didn't start the paperwork today, then I'd just add another week to that...

Ammo is expensive as fck right now. I'm cherry picking good deals on ammo as I find it, but it's a pain.

With Harry Reid indicating that the "Assault Weapons" ban legislation isn't going to be included with the bill that will get voted on in the Senate, perhaps gun and ammo prices will begin to come down. I keep waiting to hear if Magpul is going to pull out of Colorado after they passed their new restrictions.

I check places like ammoseek.com which pulls in a variety of sellers of ammo both individual and bulk. gunbroker.com is where you find all those folks who have purchased ammo, including dealers who are auctioning it off at higher prices. Just about any ammo/gun you want is there but at inflated prices.

What was amazing to see was how Democrats tried to amend their own legislation so that it would allow Magpul to still do business there in Colorado with customers outside of Colorado. Magpul called it like it was and said, yeah, so Colorado gets our taxes we pay but we can't make any money in your State, pack sand. Colorado voters will have the chance to have their say in the next elections. It will be interesting to see if they agree with their legislators or not.

I will buy their magazines that hold 15 rounds or less and are not readily convertible

You could download the "Cuomo" AR-15 30 round magazine .stl file from Defense Distributed and print one on a 3D Printer if you have access to one locally. They also have a "Feinstein" AK magazine as well as an .stl file for a AR lower receiver too. All are free to download.

Luckily, I'm all set on magazines for now. I'll survive with 15 rounders if things break I guess.

Sucks that they make it a "firearms" crime, meaning they can take everything you own if you are convicted.

Tigger 03-21-2013 08:23 PM

I built this entirely myself. It is a .300 Blackout with a Wilson Combat SS Fluted barrel and BCE BABC 7.62 comp. The barrel pictured is 16", 18" OAL with the comp. The barrel is getting cut to 14" and the comp is getting pinned and welded, like, right now. Being a 13" rail it should help with overall balance. Heavy gun. Trying to shave weight now and the UBR isn't helping a damn thing. Oh well. Good thing I go to the gym or this would be difficult to swing.

Hopefully not for long. I read yesterday that local LE is even having to conserve ammo for training because they too can't get ammunition. Govt. types are okay but local LE faces the same shortages.

I also saw where the 4th Federal Circuit of Appeals restored Maryland's concealed carry law. Looks like it will eventually wind up in the SCOTUS.

m4a1mustang 03-24-2013 06:50 AM

The way our society is going it seems to me like future Supreme courts will support the Bill of Rights but allow for "reasonable" restrictions. Be it firearms or freedom of speech we are getting clamped down on more and more as years go on.

To be honest, I'm considering selling off most of my firearms just so I don't have to deal with future BS. I think I would keep three of my pistols and probably keep my shotgun. I could probably part with my AR and be fine with it... At this point it feels like a burden... Can't shoot it because I need to conserve my ammo, and at some point in the future it will probably have to be registered and taxed ahead of future confiscation.

Well I'd just say don't be too hasty to rid yourself of your firearms just yet. The individual states are taking action to limit what can and can not be done. The whole nation is becoming more divided along lines and you'll have states that will enforce federal gun restrictions and you will others that won't. I saw several Sheriffs in CO saying they wouldn't enforce the new gun restrictions in their county. In TX, there has been new legislation that would make it illegal for state law enforcement to enforce any federal bans on firearms. The owner of Colt rented 10 buses and had his employees who wanted to, go down to the CT state capital and speak directly to their legislators about the impact that passing further restrictions will have on the 1.7 Billion dollars that Colt provides to CT. The owner of Mossberg also has been active in talking about what it will mean if CT legislators pass further restrictions and was involved in a debate with a CT anti-gun rep last week where he pretty much owned the poor schmuck.

The fast moving politicians I believe never thought anything through and are just now understanding what their actions will result in.

If you want to watch an interesting speech by Wayne LaPierre at National Harbor at the CPAC last week, its here:
