its worth it.

My GF bought a Pelican 1170 case so she can take her LC9 with her when she goes to Texas. It's a pretty solid case and comes with the "pluck and pull" foam so it's easy to set up:

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-M...117_184143.jpg

When she flies she'll keep the ammo in a separate container, just to be safe.

eastwest2300 01-17-2012 07:47 PM

thats pretty nice

m4a1mustang 01-17-2012 07:48 PM

Yeah it's really solid, and only around $35 on Amazon.

eastwest2300 01-17-2012 07:53 PM

Nice, you know I was gonna just throw away my glock cases, but I was told its a good idea to hold on to them, especially if I wanted to sell the guns in the future or move them state to state.

m4a1mustang 01-17-2012 07:56 PM

Yeah don't throw them away. They are some of the nicer OEM cases around.

eastwest2300 01-17-2012 08:03 PM

Yeah, man I was thinking that they were taking up space, and literally I put both of them in the trash bin, and my roommate whos a LEO was like, dude you should keep those, and talked some sense into me.. hehe

TROOPER 01-20-2012 08:44 AM

Palmetto State Armory suck A$$...!!

OK, so I've decided PSA really suck monkey butt, and I won't be using them anymore.

My last 3 orders have been delayed, and they take forever on their "processing" without any updates or feedback.

The last few orders have taken anywhere from a week to 2 weeks to "process", even though they are quick enough to "process" your payment and charge your card..

My current order is still "processing" after more than a week. So I just emailed them and told them if it doesn't go out today, with a confirmed tracking number, they can cancel my order...

While they are cheap, and generally cheaper shipping.
I think I'd actually rather pay a few extra bucks shipping with another compnay, who actually know what Customer Service is..!!

m4a1mustang 01-20-2012 08:46 AM

Damn... I've usually had timely service from PSA... they must be swamped these days. I noticed the other day that they no longer have $12 flat rate shipping on ammo, so I'm going to shop around some more.

I've had good luck with SGAmmo.com in the past.

m4a1mustang 01-20-2012 08:47 AM

With PSA, I've noticed that their Facebook fan page has really taken off in the past few months... going from only a few k fans to 20k+.

They've also got STUPID deals on pretty good quality AR stuff... like $379.99 for a 16" hammer forged midlength upper with quality BCG and charge handle... so it's no wonder they're swamped.

TROOPER 01-20-2012 08:55 AM

Would be nice if they just answered emails, or let you know there's a small delay etc etc...

Good prices, and plenty of products, and they have just revamped their website...

But geeeez if you're backlogged, you cetainly found the time to charge my credit card, before sitting on an order for 2 weeks LOl

m4a1mustang 01-20-2012 08:56 AM

Have you tried to call them?

Alright, weapons experts. I just got a new red dot for my AR, but the mounts it come with are way too low (unless I want to always aim at my front sight...). They have a replacement, but Im pretty sure >$200 is a RIDICULOUS amount to pay for a mount like this. Any recommendations?

Here is PFI's, but I'm sure any good 33MM mount should work just dandy...

And here's the red dot I went with:

Lareau Tactical makes some of the best mounts for any type of optics. You will not be disappointed. Plus you always get a lot a cool free stuff.

I appreciate the reply, but I cant seem to find a 33MM mount there. Plenty of 30MM ones, though...

It depends on how sturdy you want the mount to be. If your gun is a high round-count tool or something you need to be durable enough to bet your life on, then $200 is about right for a good mount. If it's a low round-count range gun, a pair of simple rings or a cheap mount might be fine. You can find the rings even on Amazon for as low at $20. Or, go over to Primary Arms and look their stuff.

ETA: oops sorry, didn't catch the 33mm part. No clue about that. I've never even heard of an AR15 optic that needed 33mm rings.

Seems like a bit of an odd size, for sure.

eastwest2300 01-21-2012 05:39 PM

Yeah 33mm is pretty odd.

MightyBobo 01-21-2012 05:54 PM

Hmm, how about this? Cheap, but it'd work...

NCStar makes airsoft stuff. I wouldn't want to use that on a real rifle!

Sorry, I more meant the product type (as in, the rail riser itself) - I already saw the complaints in comments/pictures about their quality.

Sell your current RDS at a profit. ;)

Lol, I kinda doubt I'd make that much off of it :-p. I'll give it a shot before I do that. Ha ha, get it? Shot?

m4a1mustang 01-21-2012 06:25 PM

Looks like it'd work but I'd prefer a regular mount.

eastwest2300 01-21-2012 06:34 PM

Just keep looking, you'll find it.

m4a1mustang 01-21-2012 06:47 PM

Trooper were you able to get that PSA order sorted?

eastwest2300 01-21-2012 07:37 PM

Steve, we should really setup a meet then a cruise to a range to shoot long guns... I really wanna do that.

m4a1mustang 01-21-2012 07:38 PM

Me too man, especially while we still have this cold weather!

Dude... well lets do it.. start a new thread, lets get the buzz going, and start planning something.

m4a1mustang 01-21-2012 07:47 PM

IIRC all the long ranges are in MD, so it's up to you guys to plan. ;)

eastwest2300 01-21-2012 07:49 PM

Dude, I have NO idea where any of them are, but I will start looking, and pricing them out.

m4a1mustang 01-21-2012 07:51 PM

Or we could just be lazy and make Trooper do it. It was his idea anyways!

Here’s the best list of Ranges in Virginia that I've been able to find.
Virginia Public Shooting Ranges
I’ve only been to BlueRidge, and (I think) they’re good for handguns and shotguns, but not much more.

Where do you go for “longer” (100yds+) ranges around here?
I see:
  • Clark Brothers in Warrenton (100yds), about 30 mins from Fairfax
  • CF Phelps – near Sumerduck (25, 50, and 100yds), about an hour from Fairfax
  • Hite Hollow – near Staunton (50, 100, 150yds), about 2 hours from Fairfax.
And I think all of them would make a for a nice cruise. :driving:

eastwest2300 01-22-2012 11:48 AM

Bill, you are the man, sir...eRep given, thanks for posting.
