Law says I can't sell them to you. But I'm headed to the gunshow in Harrisburg PA on DEC 10 and 11. Want to go?

Dec 10th is a Saturday, it all depends on what time you leave, I'll probably be getting off 6am on that Saturday morning, and I'll sleep til atleast 1pm. Im not sure what time I'll have to work that Saturday night, I havent seen my schedule yet. So keep me posted on your plans. Its definitely a possibility.

Thanks Brian.

Couple of pics of my new lower.

First pick is the lower with basic parts hands tight, before I did the build.
It also includes my kick a$$ 18" SPR

The second pic is the completed lower, the upper is at the gun smiths getting the barrel pinned.
It's a 14.5", which I'm pinning so I don't have to pay the ATF any money for having a SBR ;)

Wow very nice, Darren... where did you get the tactical grip for your completed weapon on top. I want one of those, but they are hella pricey.

I got mine from Joe Bob's Outfitters, for less than $50

ERGO AR15/M16 Grip Kit, Deluxe Tactical SureGrip with Palm Shelf - 4055

If you're a member of the MD Shooters forum (MDS), there is a section that details forum member discounts.
Although I'm not sure how they'd know you're a member LOL, just use the coupon code "MD" at checkout and get another 5% off :tiphat:

I've got 90% of my stuff through them, and anything over $100 is free shipping.
I'd expect an order under $100 to be around $7 USPS shipping.

That's a great looking rifle. I've got a spot in PA that we can shoot out to 900yds. Let me know if you want to go sometime. It's a friends private property and we sit up on a ridge and shoot into the valley at manhole covers that are hanging every 100yds between 500 and 900. The only issue is you can't shoot at anything closer because of the angle down the hill and there are no targets set up closer than 500. I just got myself a Savage chambered in .338 Lapua on a trade for a Daniel Defense AR setup that I had sitting around unused and I plan on going up during my Christmas vacation.

Absolutely, we could cruise out there, shoot, then cruise back. Definitely sounds like something we could do!

I haven't had chance to put my 18" SPR AR-15 to the test at that distance yet, so that would be cool.

I'm in the iddle of building my new 14.5" AR (lower complete), just waiting for the barrel to be pinned by a gunsmith, so should have it back in a week.

AND..... I just ordered a new upper receiver today for my NEXT build LOL

I'm planning on building "another AR platform" LMAO, but in the new "300 AAC Blackout" caliber (7.62×35mm)

Did we ever resolve the "state lines" issue?

I am not a lawyer, but I think transport across state lines is fine so long as you follow a few guidelines like separating your ammo from your guns and locking either the ammo or the guns up.

I am extra cautious so if I were to go to MD to shoot I would break down the upper and lower of my AR and place them in their case. I would leave my Glock field stripped in its case. Guns would go in the trunk and I would keep the ammo locked in a metal ammo can in the passenger compartment.

Federal Law affords us some protections regarding transporting legally owned firearms across state lines. Just make sure you do your research on individual state laws (for your destination state and all of the states you will be passing through) to make sure you are covered.

Steve, you are right 1000% on this one.. well said!

The rear cover rail mount was the most retarded idea ever made.
It just made my AK look cool especially with the green laser...lol

My daily carry.

Trading the ruger for an HK45 soon.

Filipeanutz 12-09-2011 02:53 PM

they are ridiculously simple.
You could literally drop it in mud and all sorts of stuff, pack a magazine with sand and mud, put it in the gun, rack it, and you can still shoot it just fine.
you will probably end up with mud and sand in ur face and eyes but it will still shoot.

I tried it myself, it will always shoot.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...24117265_n.jpg

thats it.
Piston, bolt, and spring.

My thoughts exactly... I hear they're easy to get.

eastwest2300 12-09-2011 02:57 PM

Damn dude, an AK-47 is THAT durable..wow man! Thats insane!

Filipeanutz 12-09-2011 03:07 PM

If it malfunctions you can either just rack it or remove mag and rack it then ur good to go versus AR's where u have to rack tack and something else.

Its not really comfortable to shoot IMO but it will definitely save my butt when sh!t hits the fan.

I'd also recommend a Mosin Nagant. bolt action rifle 7.62X54R.
They are ridiculously cheap. between $85-$150 as $150 the most expensive ive seen.
Ammo is cheap too. usually comes in a can that looks like a Spam can. around $80 for 440rds. keep in mind this is a pretty powerful bullet. sits in between .308 and 30-06

murphman 12-09-2011 04:41 PM

Yeah I just got a mosin about a month ago and so did a couple friends, its a cool gun to fire as long as you go through the correct safety checks before firing. But if shtf the mosin will be the last thing I grab
