MAZOC 2010 ZdayZ Caravan Thread - Register Here!!!
Fellow Mid-A'ers...
If you are participating in the Caravan down to ZDayZ from the NOVA Starbucks meetup spot, please fill out the following form to register: 2010 Mid-Atlantic 370Z Owner's Club ZDayZ Caravan Registration I'll update this post with the list of participants and will add other Caravan details over the weekend, but for now, get registered! Registered Participants: 1. m4a1mustang 2. 2theextreme 3. tooohip + hoser (imaginary friend) 4. zZSportZz 5. ZCarMan + Passenger 6. SscottFitz + Passenger 7. Spartan 1771 + Passenger Speed Limits!!! I think I speak for all of us when I say that, as a group, we take pride in knowing that we aren't viewed as four-wheeled hooligans because we respect the law and conduct ourselves in a mature and civilized matter. Be it at our weekly Starbucks meets, our dinner events like GB Annapolis, or any other random events we may have, we always conduct ourselves in a way that reflects positively on the group. This cruise will be no different. As nice at it might be to fly down Highway 81 at high speed, we will be obeying all posted limits and respecting the rule of law. The highways we will be travelling are very highly policed, and as a group of hot sports cars we will be attracting a lot of attention. So, we'll take it slow and enjoy the drive. 81 is a fast highway, and we'll probably be passed by numerous speeders, but relax and enjoy the scenery (it's a beautiful drive) and we'll all make it to the Resort in one piece! Thanks for your cooperation! And now, on to the details of the cruise: Caravan Details Where: We will meet at the Fair Lakes Starbucks (our Saturday meeting spot) When: Everyone should shoot on arriving between 5:30AM and 5:45 AM. We will start the Caravan to ZDayZ at approximately 6AM. The Route: ZDAYZ Caravan Route - Google Maps Will post up more details on where we will likely be stopping along the way. Right now we know we'll at least have to make two fuel stops. We might even throw in a third as we get closer to the Resort so we have our tanks a full as possible once we get there. More details to come!!! |
Awesome! That's cool as hell!
|
:) I know the confirmation says I will e-mail you a confirmation shortly, but right now I haven't figured out how to enable an e-mail alert when someone submits a response to the form, so I won't be e-mailing confirmations... just check here to see the updated participant list! :D

Interesting the people from like the first coffee/dinner meet are going. Where are all the new guys I've missed while I was on travel?
|
I don't know if they are as hardcore as us. I will get on some of them this weekend to come.
Wow that sounded horrible. |

So who all do we have so far?
|
List updated. Should find out from Omar soon if he's going to go with us.
I'm updating everything from my phone right now so I can't do any heavy updates... hope to have the route info and a preliminary itinerary up tomorrow night when I'm back at a PC. |
I'm adding more details. Going to post up some planned stops and other organizational stuff here tonight. Feel free to add your input!!!
|
I just added a couple paragraphs on speed limits for the cruise. I hope you all read it over and I'm sure you won't object.
We'll all have a track day sooner or later to fulfill our need for speed! |

Well, I got my film protective roll from Griot's Garage today and put some test pieces on.
Let's just say it looks silly. I took some camera phone pics... will put them up in a minute. Here we go: So I very hastily cut pieces out and just tossed them on. Obviously there are cleaner ways to apply it, but it still won't look that purdy, but it should do a decent job... :icon18: |
Thanks Steve -- good info and appreciate you providing a little "Pre CruiZ Coordination" -- agree 100% with your observations -- we are looking forward to the weekend.
Gotta place an order this week for my protective film -- wonder how different the Griot's Garage product is from normal 3M Cling Wrap like you get at Staples/Office Depot...... Any thoughts? Steve (the other one.....) |

This GG stuff should definitely do the trick. It's plenty thick so it should protect against small rock strikes in addition to bugs and other road grime. It just doesn't look that pretty. I know I can make it look a lot better with a little more patiences and maybe a squeegee, we'll see! I'm definitely going to cover the entire front bumper. I will probably cover most of the hood, if not all, and then the A-pillars and mirrors. Probably a little bit of the side too. I will probably get a lot of "WTF" looks. :icon18: |

Its going to be hard to put on perfectly though, especially with my lack of patience. I don't predict i'll have the cleanest install :)
