So who all do we have so far?

m4a1mustang 05-02-2010 04:19 PM

List updated. Should find out from Omar soon if he's going to go with us.

I'm updating everything from my phone right now so I can't do any heavy updates... hope to have the route info and a preliminary itinerary up tomorrow night when I'm back at a PC.

m4a1mustang 05-03-2010 06:14 PM

I'm adding more details. Going to post up some planned stops and other organizational stuff here tonight. Feel free to add your input!!!

I just added a couple paragraphs on speed limits for the cruise. I hope you all read it over and I'm sure you won't object.

We'll all have a track day sooner or later to fulfill our need for speed!

Well, I got my film protective roll from Griot's Garage today and put some test pieces on.

Let's just say it looks silly. I took some camera phone pics... will put them up in a minute.

Here we go:

So I very hastily cut pieces out and just tossed them on. Obviously there are cleaner ways to apply it, but it still won't look that purdy, but it should do a decent job... :icon18:

Thanks Steve -- good info and appreciate you providing a little "Pre CruiZ Coordination" -- agree 100% with your observations -- we are looking forward to the weekend.

Gotta place an order this week for my protective film -- wonder how different the Griot's Garage product is from normal 3M Cling Wrap like you get at Staples/Office Depot...... Any thoughts?

Steve (the other one.....)

Not sure if that 3M film they sell at the office supply stores is paint/clear coat safe.

This GG stuff should definitely do the trick. It's plenty thick so it should protect against small rock strikes in addition to bugs and other road grime. It just doesn't look that pretty. I know I can make it look a lot better with a little more patiences and maybe a squeegee, we'll see!

I'm definitely going to cover the entire front bumper. I will probably cover most of the hood, if not all, and then the A-pillars and mirrors. Probably a little bit of the side too.

I will probably get a lot of "WTF" looks. :icon18:

I'm actually going to have a little "double protection" going on as I already have the clear bra on, just trying to save a little time doing post arrival car cleaning. I'm ordering the large & small roll of film from Griot's tonight, should be here in plenty of time. I think you've hit all the right "bug impact spots".... I noticed from my recent trip to Myrtle Beach that the nose & side mirrors is where I had the majority of the impacts.
