I'm coming again this year (and will keep on coming as long as I can get up the hill in front of the MAZOC cabin). Won't be in the caravan. Arriving Wed evening. Sign me up as a volunteer for whenever and wherever you need. XXL if you have a leftover shirt but don't sweat it if I'm too late to get one. Look forward to seeing you all. Safe travels.

can one of you zdayz veterans tell us zdayz virgins on what to do and not to do that's not listed on the zdayz website?

i.e. what to watch out for etc?

i read on a mustang forum that sometimes its impossible not to cross over the double yellow i.e. in some corners you either cross the double yellow or bend a rim, they also said to listen for motorcycles as they will get pissed off if you cross the double yellow and will turn around/chase you down and punch off your side mirrors.....

Bvllshyt. If it's impossible not to cross the double yellow, you're:

a.) going too fast
b.) driving beyond your level of skill
c.) driving beyond the limits of your car
d.) all of the above

(Sorry for adding to the temporary derailment of this thread)

Silly wabbit, Mustangs can't turn!

Seriously, though, it is impossible to avoid crossing the double yellow only if you are driving beyond your limits. I would advise treating the double yellow as you would the embankment you will sometimes have on your right: if you cross the line, something bad will happen. As long as you drive within your limits and pull off for faster vehicles when possible, nobody will have a problem with your driving. The general attitude is that everyone (regardless of vehicle) is there to have fun, and they don't want some silly confrontation getting in the way of that.

Indeed. There are a few sections where it is certainly tempting to cross the double yellow to maximize speed -- but at that point you are out of control. It's a public road, not a race track, and you will be shamed (possibly maimed) if you do stupid stuff.

We usually have them for communicating while at the resort. They come in handy on the cruises and the caravans from and to home. You do Not want them as a distraction while on the curvy mountain roads there.

VERY useful. As Zstig points out, you don't want the distraction while driving the Dragon, but radios are handy. There is virtually no phone service at Fontana, which means radios are the best way to communicate while on campus. Also, if you decide to go somewhere with a group, radios are the easiest way to stay in contact. You can buy a set for not too much, or see if anyone has a spare to share.

Did you check the volunteer box when you registered? They placed the shirt order on the 5th. can you PM me your full name and shirt size? I'll need that for Brie as well. I'll reach out to Bryan and Michelle and see if they can cover your addiction!

Fast Intentions is having some cool shirts this year as well. The proceeds are going to Wags for Tags.
