Official MAZOC BBQ 2016 Thread - August 20th
 

This year's BBQ is now officially scheduled for August 20th at North Point State Park in Edgemere, MD. I have rented the Bay Front Gazebo for us for the day from 8 AM to sunset. The guy at the park mentioned that we should try to get to the park as early as possible because they have limited parking. Once parking is full, they close the park so you won't be able to get in after that. Late morning is when it starts to get full so we should try to have everyone there by 9-10 AM at the latest. This might also affect the karting plans, but we can probably figure that out once we're there. Might have to do karting after the BBQ or something.

See the attached image for a map of the park. I marked in yellow where we need to park for the Gazebo. Once you pay and get into the park, just follow the road down to the end. Should be parking lot B and we can park on the left side to be closer to the Gazebo.

Now some admin stuff I was informed of when I made the reservation:
-There are 2 charcoal grills available for us in the Gazebo area, so someone will need to bring charcoal for grilling.
-The park is trash free, so we will have to take all the trash back out with us (add trash bags to the list of needed items as well).
-There is no alcohol allowed in the Gazebo area.
-There are no pets allowed until after Labor Day unfortunately.


If you are attending, please re-confirm (along with any +1's) in this thread. If you know what you are planning to bring in terms of food/supplies, let me know and I'll put it on the list. I know we had a bunch of stuff left over from ZDayZ that was being saved for the BBQ so I can add all that to the list as well.

I have 4 OEM s2k oil filters, 4 NGK spark plugs, and 2 jugs of the Honda coolant. I also have a set of SRP aluminum racing pedals for the S2K which I never installed. I think they look like this:

I also have a Boot Bag (http://boot-bag.com/bmw_z411.htm) for the S2k somewhere. Let me know if you are interested in that. I never used it, but I know you sometimes take long trips in your S2K so it could be useful for some extra space.

I seem to remember people liking them, but I wasn't able to have any myself.

I'll be sure to find some Halal kebabs this time. Pretty sure I did last time but then I couldn't tell which was which.

That would be awesome! Yeah I think they got mixed up last time, so I just avoided them.

I think Andy and I can make it - I'll have to check with him to make sure the dog will be ok at home all day. I could probably bribe the kid to let him out at some point. We'd be happy to bring a great big fillet of salmon and some veggie burgers and/or dogs.

Went to the park today to pay for the gazebo rental and took some pics. Looks like fishing is allowed there if you have the appropriate fishing license.

Ok everyone, we're less than 2 weeks away from the BBQ now. I really need everyone to let me know what they're planning on bringing ASAP.

I'll bring Ice Tea (un-sweet, sweet, etc.). Is there anything we need?

Things we probably still need:
-Meats to be grilled. Anthony is bringing brisket and Aniceh is bringing some non-meat food to be grilled, but those are the only "entrees" I have on the list.
-Sides/snacks
-Desserts

Folks I'm not going to be able to make it. I just looked at my calendar and I'm going to be in Orlando that weekend. Really sorry. Was looking forward to seeing you guys again.

I'll bring more if no one else volunteers.
