What Do you Use For Music?

So I asked this on another forum a while back about 3 years ago. And got something like 85% USE IPODS. So what do you use to play music for the most part?

phelan 10-06-2009 11:36 AM

...a radio?

bigaudiofanat 10-06-2009 11:37 AM

LOL other than that I mean for your own personal music.

StLRedrider 10-06-2009 11:40 AM

nano and a touch here, not too much music on them yet.

phelan 10-06-2009 11:42 AM

I remember using a psp a few years back for music and all. But it was just to big. Also was worried about braking that big screen.

The new PSP Go is very compact, but still a bit thick in the width area since it is a slide out style system.
I currently use Aux through an cheap MP3 player, once upgraded to a new HU I will either go SD card if I end up with Pioneer or USB stick if Kenwood. I have an old iPod I could use, but it has been having issues lately of even booting and I do not want that problem if I am driving.

Though it might be cheap just to buy a used iPod nano or iPod shuffle when the time comes.

bigaudiofanat 10-06-2009 08:06 PM

Well it might be the battery upgrade it and throw it in the glove box and forget about it. The power from the cable should keep it going just fine.

theDreamer 10-06-2009 08:08 PM

It might be, I have not had time to tear it down. It is way past its warranty (I think this is a second generation iPod), but will work on it once I pick my HU same day and get that installed.

Either the flash memory in the car or XM radio. At home we have XM as part of our Dish Network so we listen to that. Occasionally we'll listen to a podcast through the stereo via the iPhone.

Ipod in the house generally. Iphone for long walks to class. Satelite or CD's in the car, or Ipod if it's gonna be a long drive.

I travel quite a bit for work, so all my music is on my Archos 5. I also use it for video - it comes in handy on the plane, especially when the person in front of me reclines and makes it nearly impossible to use my laptop. Surprisingly, I find myself addicted to the XM/Sirius package in the 370Z, so I have yet to really use it in the car.

I'll probably end up buying an iPhone when they make one with enough capacity to store all my music on it, but that's probably two or so iPhone upgrades away. Hopefully my 3-year old Razr V3 lasts that long.

This is a downfall however, I found with 8gb you can pretty much store all the favorites. I know for me I have about 35-40 gb of music. Most of it I don't listen to except once in a blue moon. So the 8gb of what I primarily listen to works put pretty well.

^+1. lateley ive been listening to pandora on my iphone via bluetooth sync on my avic-d3. The only bad thing is it drains my battery very fast. I even bought the ipod connector to keep it charged and it did charge my original iphone, but since I got the 3g it no longer works. Im guessing a different power connector pin??...
